### Episode 9: "The One Where Underdog Gets Away"
The episode begins at Monica's apartment, where the gang is gathered around, excitedly discussing their Thanksgiving plans. Monica, as the designated host, is in full-on chef mode, organizing recipes and prepping the kitchen.
**Monica:** (excited) "Okay, people, this is my first Thanksgiving as host, and I'm going *all out*. We've got turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce... everything. It's going to be perfect!"
**Ross:** (teasing) "Monica, it's just us. You don't have to feed the entire city."
**Monica:** "I *know*, but I want this to be special. Trust me, this will be a Thanksgiving you'll all remember."
**Rachel:** (nervously) "Well, I won't be here to remember it. I'll be watching the Thanksgiving parade... from the streets... as a waitress."
**Phoebe:** "Ooh! Maybe you'll get to hold the ropes for one of the balloons!"
**Rachel:** (sarcastic) "Yeah, and maybe I'll even get to ride on one."
Rosé, who's quietly sitting on the couch sipping his coffee, watches with amusement as the group banters about the holiday.
**Joey:** (changing the subject) "So, Rosé, what's Thanksgiving like for a multibillionaire? Private jets to some exotic island with a turkey flown in from Paris?"
**Rosé:** (grinning) "Actually, I've never really celebrated Thanksgiving much. Usually, I'm traveling or working on something. But this year, I thought I'd give the whole 'traditional holiday' thing a try."
**Chandler:** "Wow, our Thanksgiving pressure just went *way* up. Now we're feeding the mysterious man who's never experienced the magic of a turkey coma."
---
**Scene shift to Monica's kitchen:**
Monica is in full prep mode, assigning everyone tasks to make sure everything goes off without a hitch.
**Monica:** "Okay, Rachel, you're in charge of the cranberry sauce. Just open the can and heat it."
**Rachel:** "Wait, the cranberry sauce comes in a *can*? Shouldn't we, like, make it from scratch?"
**Monica:** (slightly panicked) "Rachel, we do not have time to handcraft cranberry sauce. Just heat it."
**Joey:** (walking in) "So what do I do?"
**Monica:** (handing him a peeler) "Peel the potatoes. And please, Joey, don't eat them raw this time."
Joey shrugs and gets to work, while Ross and Chandler argue about football in the background. Phoebe is helping with the stuffing, humming to herself.
**Monica:** "Rosé, do you want to help?"
Rosé stands up, rolling up his sleeves.
**Rosé:** "Sure, put me to work. But just a heads up—I might overcomplicate things."
**Monica:** "You know what? You can be in charge of the gravy. I trust you not to mess that up."
Rosé grins, taking his assignment seriously.
**Rosé:** "Gravy, huh? Well, get ready for the best gravy of your lives."
---
**Scene shift to Rachel's Thanksgiving parade job:**
Rachel, now dressed in her work uniform, is outside in the cold, holding onto one of the parade ropes, looking thoroughly miserable as giant floats drift by. She watches the huge *Underdog* balloon float overhead, trying to see the magic in it, but it's clear she wishes she was anywhere else.
**Rachel:** (to herself) "Yeah... this is totally what I imagined Thanksgiving would be like."
Suddenly, there's a commotion, and the rope she's holding starts pulling. The *Underdog* balloon is starting to get away from them.
**Parade worker:** "Hold on tight! Don't let it get loose!"
Rachel, struggling to keep her grip, watches in horror as the balloon begins drifting further away.
**Rachel:** "Oh no, oh no, oh no..."
And with that, the *Underdog* balloon breaks free, drifting off into the sky as parade workers scramble to recover it.
---
**Scene shift back to Monica's apartment:**
The group is sitting in the living room, waiting for dinner to be ready. Monica is in the kitchen, stressing over every detail, while Rosé calmly perfects the gravy, stirring with precision as if it's an art form.
**Phoebe:** "Rosé, that smells *amazing*. I don't think I've ever been this excited about gravy before."
**Rosé:** (smiling) "It's all about the balance. Just the right amount of reduction."
Joey, meanwhile, is poking around in the kitchen, trying to sneak a taste of everything before it's ready.
**Joey:** "Hey, if you need me to, you know, taste-test the stuffing..."
**Monica:** "Joey! Get out of here. Dinner's almost ready."
Just as everything seems to be going perfectly, the phone rings. Monica answers it, expecting it to be Rachel checking in, but her expression suddenly shifts to one of horror.
**Monica:** "What do you mean the oven's broken?!"
Everyone in the room turns to her in shock.
**Monica:** (panicked) "The oven just died! It's not heating up!"
**Chandler:** "Oh, well, there goes the gravy. Sorry, Rosé."
**Rosé:** (calmly) "Actually, the gravy's still good. But, uh, a cold turkey might not go over so well."
**Monica:** (frantic) "No, no, no! This is my first Thanksgiving as host. This is supposed to be perfect!"
---
**Scene shift to the rooftop:**
The gang decides to try a different tactic to save Thanksgiving. Since the oven is broken and Rachel is stuck dealing with the aftermath of the *Underdog* balloon disaster, they haul everything up to the rooftop, where Rosé reveals that he has a portable grill in his storage unit.
**Rosé:** "Well, I thought this might come in handy one day. Guess today's the day."
**Joey:** "Wait, so you've got a *grill* up here? Dude, you're full of surprises."
**Monica:** (impressed) "Okay, Rosé, I take back what I said earlier. You've officially saved Thanksgiving."
The group gets to work, grilling the turkey and vegetables while enjoying the view of the city skyline. It's not the Thanksgiving Monica planned, but the mood is light, and everyone seems to be enjoying the spontaneity.
**Ross:** "You know, this isn't so bad. A rooftop Thanksgiving—it's kind of cool."
**Chandler:** "Yeah, I mean, who needs an oven when you've got Rosé and his magical grill?"
**Rachel:** (finally arriving, looking frazzled) "You guys! You won't believe what happened. *Underdog* got away!"
**Monica:** "We heard! And... we lost the oven."
**Rachel:** (looking at the grill) "What? Wait... we're grilling Thanksgiving?"
**Rosé:** "We're improvising. And trust me, it's going to be great."
---
**Scene shift to later on the rooftop:**
The gang sits down to enjoy their impromptu Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey, though grilled, is delicious, and Rosé's gravy is a hit.
**Joey:** (with his mouth full) "Rosé, this gravy is unreal. I mean, I could drink this."
**Phoebe:** "Yeah, this whole meal turned out amazing. Who needs ovens?"
**Monica:** (smiling) "Well, I have to admit... this isn't the Thanksgiving I planned, but it's actually kind of perfect."
**Rosé:** "Sometimes the best meals happen when things don't go according to plan."
**Rachel:** (relaxing) "You know what? You're right. I mean, sure, *Underdog* got away, and I spent my day holding ropes in the cold, but... this is nice."
The group laughs, enjoying the meal and each other's company as the city glows around them.
**Chandler:** "Okay, so new tradition? Every Thanksgiving, we grill on the rooftop?"
**Monica:** "Let's not make that a rule, but... it's definitely a good backup plan."
---
The episode ends with a wide shot of the gang on the rooftop, laughing and eating their makeshift Thanksgiving dinner under the stars, proving that even when things go wrong, being together makes everything just right.
