Two months had passed since Cordelia arrived at Camp Half-Blood. The sun shone brightly over the camp, illuminating the vibrant colors of the cabins and the sounds of laughter and training echoing through the trees. Cordelia felt a sense of belonging here, especially as her friendships with Annabeth and Luke grew stronger.
As they strolled along the path towards the pavilion, Annabeth turned to Cordelia with a curious expression. "Did you hear about Grover's satyr license?" she asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.
Cordelia chuckled. "He's been talking about it nonstop. He really thinks he can find Pan."
Grover joined them, his excitement palpable. "I'm serious! If I can find Pan, it could change everything. The world needs him now more than ever. I can feel it!" His eyes sparkled with determination.
Luke smirked. "You know, Grover, you might just be the first satyr to bring back a god. It's an interesting ambition."
"Thanks for the support, Luke," Grover replied, rolling his eyes but grinning nonetheless.
As they approached the main cabin, a sudden tension filled the air. They noticed a crowd gathered around a furious Zeus, whose presence commanded attention.
"Not only has my weapon gone missing, but so have Poseidon's and Hades's!" Zeus bellowed, causing gasps to ripple through the crowd. His eyes blazed with fury.
"This isn't just a theft; it's a challenge to our power," Poseidon added, his voice steady but his expression stormy. "We need to act quickly."
Hades, looming behind Poseidon, nodded grimly. "And there are rumors of Titans breaking free from Tartarus. We can't afford to be distracted by this."
Annabeth exchanged worried glances with Cordelia and Luke. "This sounds serious," she murmured. "If the gods are losing their weapons, it could mean trouble for all of us."
The Oracle, appearing suddenly in a shimmer of light, broke the tension with her haunting voice. "A child of the sea and three others shall find the lost weapons and the children of Hades."
Cordelia felt a rush of adrenaline at the mention of the prophecy. "I can help! I'm a child of the sea," she declared, her heart racing with determination.
"Then it's settled," Annabeth said, her resolve strengthening. "You, me, Luke, and Grover will go on this quest. We need to find the missing weapons and the lost children of Hades."
Grover's eyes widened, a mixture of excitement and anxiety flooding his face. "Just us four? This is going to be intense!"
Luke placed a reassuring hand on Grover's shoulder. "We've trained for this. Together, we're strong. We can figure this out."
As the gods murmured among themselves, Cordelia glanced at Zeus, who was now deep in thought. She could see the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. "What if we fail?" she wondered aloud, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Failure isn't an option," Annabeth replied firmly. "We're demigods; we were born to face challenges like this. And we'll do it together."
With their decision made, they began to gather supplies for their quest. Cordelia felt a sense of purpose wash over her. She was ready to embrace her destiny, knowing that her friends would stand by her side.
As they packed their bags, Grover nervously tapped his foot. "What if we run into monsters? I mean, we've faced them before, but what if they're stronger this time?"
Luke smiled, trying to lighten the mood. "Then we'll be stronger too. Besides, we've got Cordelia. If anyone can handle a few monsters, it's her."
Cordelia grinned at the compliment, feeling the warmth of their camaraderie. "We've trained for this. I've been practicing with my sword and my silk scarf. And don't forget, I have Bubbles and Flame." She motioned to the two sea turtles who had become her companions, feeling their presence a comforting reminder of her heritage.
As the group finalized their preparations, Cordelia looked up at the sky, feeling a sense of destiny. Whatever awaited them, she was ready to face it. Together, they would uncover the truth behind the stolen weapons and save the children of Hades.
