Chapter 21 - Stampede: Showdown in Downtown {Part - 2}

Remirg directed his gaze right into their eyes, throwing a look which reflected how unamused he was. His eyes showed no fear at all. The one thing that was itching him the most was the public use of his powers. Though menial they may be, a technique such as magic was something incredulous in these parts of the kingdom.

If he would be forced to reveal them, an up cry was certain to follow, news will spread like fire, reaching the furthest corners of the county in no time at all. He somehow needed to stem this situation down, trying his greatest not to resort to physical violence.

Acting was something he was really bad at. He just couldn't help showing his current emotions. And that, was what happening on the spot. He just couldn't hide that fact that he was unamused by the likes of the two.

The tense environment between the three clearly showed that he had ****** up the situation.

The older of the two, the guy with a really gruesome pockmark on his left cheek, probably imparted onto him by an unsuspecting animal, probably because of his carelessness, spoke up.

"Oi brat, you think you gunna slip away from us, making that stupid face as ****? Instead of just putting that damn bag, you pissin' me boy, I thing I hadn't had a spot of beating, did I, Narvant ?"

The other guy, whom Remirg clearly recognized as Narvant, as the big guy had pronounced him, spoke in an equally threating tone, chorusing with his mate.

"Now mate, you gunna have your best lesson off your life. Now... Get your ass kicked."

Remirg, who was unfazed by either of those actions, couldn't hold in his urge to teach them a lesson. He was becoming more and more pissed with each passing second. He just could not stand their foul presence. It was obnoxious. It was like their existence was just a mere nuisance to this place.

Gently putting his unopened bag of food down, Remirg hoisted himself up on his feet, revealing that his height was a little bit shorter than the two. On top of that, his skinny appearance was contrasting with their thickset muscular build.

If he had not been possessing the Simulator as of now, he was sure to become dead meat in a single minute.

Even the passers-by had started to halt, gathering around to have a look at the novel development. An argument with the street terrorizers was something which takes a lot of guts. And people who possessed such guts were rare.

Both of the guys burst out in fits of wild laughter as they judged Remirg's physique. Hints of tears showed up in their eyelids as they made unsuccessful attempts to hold in their reaction on such an amusing encounter.

"You look like you have a death wish mate. Let me make you rest in peace.", proclaimed the older guy, who somehow seemed to have controlled in his laughter.

Remirg, who was rather noticing the developing crowd, was becoming more and more edgy. Half a dozen people were hanging up at that spot every passing minute. At the current moment, about thirty men, women and children were goggling at his daring ecounter.

"Looks like shit is going to happen here. I cannot control the situation any longer. I have to do it!"

Mark, who was now amused at the developments, was quite eager to see what would happen. Though he clearly had described Remirg Kryptos's first real fight in his description, watching it firsthand was another thing. It was something he had been dearly awaiting. The moment when Remirg had completed the first quest.

With a sigh of acceptance, Remirg knew. It was at this moment that he knew.... He ****** up.

Imparting a serious gaze at the two street terrorizers, Remirg started speaking in a hoarse voice, which was having another gravitas.

"Listen bumpkins, I don't want to hurt either of you. I give you a chance. You may leave and never show your shitty face here again. If you resort to fighting, then I'll fight. To the earnest. And if I did, you'll really be sorry for that."

His speech produced a muffled sound of "Oohs!" from the surrounding crowd. Apparently, he had triggered something that they had never witnessed before.

Narvant and his partner had stopped smiling.

The person right here in front of them had now crossed a certain limit. A limit after which their words ceased to be. The only thing left, or rather, the only option left to them was using their hands. And use they did.

Braking into a perfect sprint, Narvant pulled back his fists, storing as much momentum he could into them. He wanted to make Remirg feel the greatest pain in his life. Such pain that he will never challenge the authority of the like of theirs.

But Remirg was already ready for that.

Instantly producing his right palm, he whispered clearly, clear enough for the whole crowd to hear.

"Shisu Kannas!"

It took a moment for Narvant to realize what had really happened.

His eyes widened as he turned behind to have a look at his fist. It was hanging midair, enveloped by a faint purple glow. Trying to move it was futile. It was just locked in to its position.

On the other hand, his partner had started charging towards Remirg, seeing his mate's plight.

Remirg, who had activated prana presence, did what he resented the most. He clearly couldn't have produced enough mana to stop both of them at once, which could have saved quite a lot of time. Being inexperienced at this stage in the use of Possession spell, he summoned his one and only weapon.

And as he did, several gasps and screams flooded the crowd.

As he commanded the inventory to present to him his weapon, the demonic scythe appeared out of thin air in front of him, towering over him, embedded right into the ground.

The purple aura produced by it was resonating with the malicious purple glow in his eyes as a new notification appeared.
