Chapter 12 - The Primordial Awakening

Remirg Kryptos fell unconscious on the hard floor as the message popped in front of him, the glow of the purple screen unable to maintain his consciousness.

[THE PLAYER HAS SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE THIRD TASK!

THE PLAYER HAS ALSO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE FIRST QUEST BY COMPLETING THE Z-TIER SHADOW DUNGEON!]

Though Remirg was unconscious, Mark was watching everything as the most eventful thing took place inside the dungeon.

The locket and prana cube, which Remirg had successfully merged together, had now formed a singular, deep crimson sphere, shining brighter than all other ten spheres in the hall.

The link between the spheres and the artifacts had vanished the moment they merged.

The red sphere hovered for about a minute in the middle of the hall, magically suspended.

It then unexpectedly made its way towards Remirg's unconscious body, which was lying right beside the dais. Hovering over him for not more than a second, it smashed into his chest, magically entering inside his body.

Mark watched mesmerized as Remirg's upper torso glowed red, making his body significantly translucent, making each and every blood vessel visible. The motionless palms of his started emanating deep orange particles as the whole of his figure was lifted off the floor.

The unknown force, aligning him into a perfectly vertical position, displaced him right over the now empty dais.

Throughout the process, only one thought was etched into Mark's mind.

"Now this is the start of goddamn action!"

Nevertheless, as it was his job, he popped in a new notification, even though the player himself wouldn't be able to see it. The one message that Remirg wanted to see the most. But his current condition wouldn't allow him to do so.

Still, The Simulator popped the notification,

[THE PLAYER CAN NOW PROCEED TO EXIT THE Z-TIER SHADOW DUNGEON!

THE PLAYER HAS LEVELED TO -3.]

A loud thunder followed the appearance of this message.

A bright white light had descended right into the middle of the hall from the top of the tower. A light white enough to outshine the entirety of the dungeon.

As it enveloped Remirg, allowing him passage to escape from the hellhole he had fallen into, Mark uttered to himself a few words,

"You really are a hero. And a real one at that."

Remirg Kryptos was pulled up into the air at an unbelievable speed. The whole of his body was accelerating at such a rate that it could easily have ripped his body apart into a million pieces.

But somehow it didn't. His body stayed intact, without even the flickering of a singular strand of hair.

It was a matter of seconds before he was dumped right at the door where it had all started. Right outside the old hag's house.

But this time, there was no solitude for Remirg and to his worst luck, the wretched woman was cleaning the outsides of her tiny abode.

Noticing her helpless neighbor's body, she hurried over in the fastest way possible, with a crouched back, standing right above his motionless heap.

"What do you think you are doing here, boy?! Get the hell outta here before I have to kick your ass out!"

Hearing the familiar scream of his neighbor, Remirg slowly opened his eyes, painfully turning his neck around to bring the old woman into his vision.

Though the sun blazed bright in the sky, Remirg could still figure out the outline of the hag. She was much too familiar a person.

Realizing the situation, he was currently in, Remirg sprang upright, in a straight-backed position, his eyes wide-open.

"Did I manage to break out of the frickin' dungeon?! Is that hellhole over now?"

A quick look at his possessions proved it. He was already missing the key to the dungeon. It meant one and only one thing. He had successfully completed the trial.

Trying to conceal his happiness, Remirg shuffled himself up on his feet, staggering a little.

The old woman was too impatient for such a musing. She was already spatting out.

"Who the hell you think you are boy, turning up in my house whenever you want! You think this is your property? I'm going to call the common police if you dare turn up here again! You mark my words, you moron! Now get out of here this instant!"

The words of the old woman had no effect on Remirg whatsoever.

Simply putting them from one ear and trash them out from the other. That was the policy of his whenever he had an encounter with her.

Without wasting any more of his precious time, Remirg sprinted out of the small settlement, crashing through the wooden gates, almost ripping them out of their shallow foundations in the loamy soil.

Another round of insults followed him as he did so, though he was already too far away that her voice was vague enough to be undistinguishable.

But now, Remirg didn't had the liberty to worry about such menial stuff. He now possessed the power of magic.

Activating Prana Presence for the first time on his own planet, he could see that none of the living beings in his surroundings exhibit any prana particles. Each and everything appeared a hue of homogenous violet.

The conclusion was as simple as it looked.

Not one being, in his vicinity, possessed magic. He has now become someone who has the power to yield against the nobles. He was finally on his way to initiate the greatest revolution of all times on his planet.

Contracting his palms into a fist, he shot it upward into the sky, unable to control his triumph.

Upon reaching the menial facade of his shack, he entered it without any ado, making sure that nobody was interested enough in his uncanny musings.

Pulling down all the existing windows he had with scraps of paper and leaves, he made himself comfortable in the only chair he possessed. Even though it was rickety.

Was it a mere coincidence or a call of destiny, the Simulator popped a new notification the moment he was going to ask it about his current stats.
