Chapter 18 - An Uneasy Detour

Remirg watched in triumph as the Simulator popped in the notification.

[CONGRATULATIONS! THE PLAYER HAS SUCCESSFULLY MASTERED THE BASIC POSSESSION SPELL LEVEL 1]

[PRIZES RECEIVED: 5 PRANA COINS;

 MP: +20;

 HP: +20;]

[THE PLAYER MAY NOW PROCEED TO MASTER THE BASIC POSSESSION SPELL LEVEL 2]

Letting out a sigh of satisfaction at his cheeky victory, Remirg transferred the awards he had received into his "inventory".

The "inventory" was one of the most useful features which Remirg has received from the Simulator as a free gift from the Item shop, in order to store any items of his need.

It sure was useful, being able to store an infinite number of items, irrespective of their weight, preserving the objects in the exact state they were stored in for an unimaginable time possible.

Since he could store anything there, including liquids without the need of containers and even the knowledge of spells, he used the Inventory to store all of his personal belongings in there.

But as he read the new message, he realized that his head was hurting as hell.

Apparently, the exertion of too much prana by force surely had a severe impact on his head. Having concentrated for more than six hours, his body demanded rest.

Even if the mysterious prana around him healed every speck of fatigue from his body, mental tiredness was a whole another chapter.

Waving around his hands, navigating the inventory, he chose the option [TRAINING ISLAND KEY] which, he had named himself, easing the out the dramatic names the key was originally provided with.

Extracting the key safely, he inserted it into the central pedestal of the island, as instructed by the Simulator.

Turning it once, he felt the same excruciating pull he had experienced the first time entering the "training island", as he had dubbed it.

Bracing himself for what fate was going to befall him, he closed his eyes, anticipating the worst concussion he was going to have in the whole of his lifetime.

And it really was as worse as he had thought/

Accelerating at what felt like the speed of light, Remirg was blasting through unknown space, carrying enough momentum to blast off, even if he collided with the smallest of insect.

But still, the nightmare didn't last long.

Somehow, the whole minute of the journey seemed to have ended a lot faster than his initial one. And for it, he was as glad as he would be to God, if he would have returned to him his long-gone mother and father.

Still, he somehow managed to make a safe return to Sebras, right in front of the back wall of his humble shack, facing the lonely woodlands. Though Remirg was barely able to see any of it, as the effects of the mysterious prana was wearing off, making him all of a sudden dizzy.

But somehow, he managed to hoist himself on his feet, making his way inside the shack, just to collapse into the old, rickety chair.

His mouth was half-open, and eyes half-closed, clearly announcing that all of his life had been clearly sucked out of his seriously rigorous training. And there he lay, for the whole of that day, dozing off in the very spot.

It was the chirping of the birds next day that woke Remirg up from his untimely slumber.

Even though he did not expect such an unexpected outcome of his training, he somehow gloated the fact back into the pit of his stomach that his physique was still not good enough to carry out the intensive training.

And, in order to move to the next level of Possession magic mastery, he sure had to train himself physically as well.

But desperate times needed desperate measures. And Remirg was no one who would not resort to shortcuts.

In case of a future untimely quest, he may not be trained enough to carry out it with his body itself. What he really needed now, was new weapon. A weapon, which was powerful enough, imbued with a significant amount of prana, which could take down at least the lowest of a Y-tier beast.

And he exactly knew the best place he could find the very thing he needed.

Forcing himself out of the comfort of the chair, though painfully, Remirg Kryptos made his way out of the shack, making his way to the back wall carefully.

Apparently, that spot had now become his best hiding place.

The morning sun facing the exact opposite direction, a stark shadow was being cast over him, providing him with more cover.

And under this cover, he projected the Item shop on the wall, which was sufficiently large enough to portray the whole of it.

Scrolling towards the right, Remirg searched for the best weapon, which would suit to his current self, though amateur he still was.

And a few minutes of thought was enough to help him choose the best weapon, which was available to him now, akin to his current budget of five prana coins.

Even though its prana density was not very high, making it compatible to him, its design was something which impressed Remirg beyond imaginations. The previous time he had used the Item Shop, he did not pay attention to it, having his mind clouded by the Resonance core.

He clicked on its visual to open a detailed analysis about it.
