The alarm blears and Adrian clumsily presses onto the button. He peeks from under his sheets to stare at the 6:00 am on the clock. With a sigh he pushes up from the bed and gets changed. As he stretches his eyes land on the computer at this desk. Excitedly he turns it on and goes to his channel.
[Singing until I'm good at it]

Adrian slumps into his chair. The one view is most likely him, but he wasn't discouraged! Taking out a notebook he jolts down ideas for his next videos.
…
"Huh? Where's mum?" Adrian asks as he rounds the corner into the kitchen.
"She's sleeping still, thought I'd make you kids some breakfast." Jay answers, piling the sausages into a plate. "Here you go! Jay's special"
"Thank you Jay." Manny nods, already sat at his seat on the kitchen island. "But usually mum cuts the sausages into bite size pieces-"
Jay heaves a long sigh. "You could've ended it at 'Thank you Jay'" and takes the plate back, ready to cut up the pieces.
Adrian slips into his seat next to Manny. "Can I have a Jay's special?" He asks.
Jay grins, "coming right up!"
It didn't take long for the trio to settle into the meal, munching on the delicious sausages, bacon and eggs. The toasts were a little burnt but tastes delicious nonetheless.
"I was thinking after breakfast, did you two want to come with me to my company?" Jay begins.
"Ah, sorry Jay I can't. I've got to meet up with Ruben. He's showing me and Luke this new trick." Manny shakes his head.
Jay turns to Adrian expectingly.
"I mean sure, but isn't it Sunday? Why do you have work on Sunday?"
[Jay's interview]
"I don't have work, and I knew Manny was going to busy today. So- I set up this perfect stage for me to show Adrian that I am quite amazing myself!" He leans towards the camera and points at it. "You could say. Someone he admires."
[interview end]
Pritchetts Closets
"Woah, you guys work on weekends?" Adrian asks staring at the employees.
"What can I say we're quite dedicated to our work" Jay laughs.
The employee themselves however eye each other warily.
And in a hush whisper, unknown to Jay and Adrian, "why are we here on a weekend again?"
"I don't know Jay called us in, and you know, gotta listen to the boss"
"I heard he's trying to recruit someone new!"
"The kid? Isn't he too young?"
"No-no this is his step son, y'know from his newest marriage"
"Oooh does that mean he wants this step son of his to be y'know.. next boss?"
"Woahh what about his current children, Clarisse and Michael?"
"No- before that what about Bob?"
(A/n in case you forgot that's the previous guy that was gonna be boss before Claire)
The worker exchange looks.
…
"This is where we keep the closests.." Jay gestures to.. closets.
Adrian nods absently.
[Jay's interview]
"I'm not going to lie, seeing Adrian so disinterested in my lifetime's work… it sucks."
[interview end]
"You wanna see my motorbike?" Jay casually asks.
Adrian turns his head fast, "really?"
"Yeah, come on let's go home." Jay pulls Adrian in and hooks his arms onto his shoulder.
…
They sit fiddling with the bike, Jay pointing out things to Adrian here and there.
Jay takes a sip out of his beer, "what do you want to be when you're older?"
Adrian taps the can of his soda, "a musician." He says, the tip of his ears turning red.
"Huh, so Phil wasn't lying after all…" Jay mutters. "I'll be honest with you kid, you shouldn't be a musician."
Adrian turns to Jay a little hurt. "Why?"
"Firstly, you suck at singing, secondly, being a musician is hard work and most don't even make it." Jay explains, "if you want to be famous, why not an actor? You've got the looks for it. You're also a smart kid so you can easily go to college and get a degree in something good, something that'll get you money. Heck, you can even come work for Pritchetts Closests."
"I know being a musician is going to be hard work and there's a very high chance I'm not going to make it. But I'd still like to try. Singing is fun Jay, it's something I want to be good at- something I want to make a living of. Didn't you have a dream too Jay?"
Jay startled then his eyes seemed to look past Adrian, into his own past. Finally he snapped back to reality and turned to the motorbike. He gently petted the black coating with a sigh, "yeah.. I did. You know what? Go for it. It may not be a career choice I think will suit you, but it's a parent's job to support their kid. So give it your best shot kid."
Adrian smiles, "thanks Jay, oh and.."
Jay raises a brow.
"Can I have sip of your beer?"
[Jay's interview]
"I remember Mitchell's first sip, the face he made after- it was hilarious. Did I want to take it away from Javier?" Jay thinks for a beat and laughs. "With Manny no but with Adrian? Screw the guy!"
[interview end]
Adrian takes a hesitant sip from a new bottle with Jay smiling mischeviously next to him. Then he winces.
"Yuck!" Adrian sticks his tongue out and attempts to wash the taste with his soda.
Jay laughs. "I thought you'd atleast pretend to like it"
Adrian shakes his head, "that thing is gross!"
Jay finishes the new bottle easily and the pair settle back into tinkering with the motorbike. "After this, do you want to see my plane collection?"
"Really? I thought that room was out of bounds?" Adrian asks excited.
"Yeah," then Jay laughs remembering something funny, "the other day- i was flying the plane and it hit Phil in the face! Blood was gushing out and everything."
"What! How was he?"
"A little bit of the wing was broken but all was well."
"I meant Phil."
"It's Phil, he's fine."
"…"
…
"I'm home!" Adrian announces, chucking his bag on the group and slamming his body in the couch with a groan.
"Welcome home papi, how was your day?" Gloria approaches, hand running through Adrian's hair.
"Was good, got my grade back for the hero essay."
"That's great! What did you get?"
"A+, obviously." Adrian pulls out a sheet of paper and hands it to Gloria.
She kisses Adrian's forehead proudly, "that's my smart boy!"
Later when the full family was over, they noticed a new piece of paper stuck to the fridge door.
[Someone I admire by Adrian Delgado]
[The person whom I admire most is my mother, you could say she is my hero!]
Gloria just shrugs "I told you so."
