As the sun began to rise casting a golden glow over the city, Jack was preparing to travel back to New York City, his phone buzzed. He groggily reached for it, his eyes scanning the screen. "Meet me at the warehouse by 2 pm. Come alone"
Jack's instincts kicked in, he showed the message to Blue and they both exchanged a concerned glance. Who could it be? And what do they want?
"I think we should call the police" Blue suggested. They were both lost in thought, their minds racing with possibilities. "I think I can handle it" Jack reluctantly said.
"Come now!" Another text came in, from the same number. Their hearts began to pound as there was a wave of heavy tension between them. Jack got up and walked straight into the bathroom, leaving Blue in bed.
He immediately took a shower, and walked back into the room with his waist wrapped in his white towel, exposing his broad and masculine body "You'd have to stay right here, while I go sort it out" he said walking towards Blue. His eyes snapped open, his heart racing, he walked to the balcony, Blue wasn't in bed neither was she on the balcony. He walked looking around the room frantically then he realized Blue was gone.
Her clothes, her purse and her jewelry were still there, but she was nowhere to be found.
Jack's mind pounding heavily, he immediately got dressed and rushed out of the hotel to find her.
As he reached out to the elevator, right in front of it, he found a piece of paper on the floor. He picked it up, and his heart skipped a bit, it was a note from her, hastily written.
"Jack, I'm sorry. I had to leave, my life is in danger. Don't look for me. I hope you stay safe. Bye!. -Blue"
Jack's eyes narrowed, what was going on? Who is after Blue? Was she abducted by the person who texted him earlier? What will he do at this point? He barely even knows her.
He crumpled the note in his hands, determination running through his veins, "I will find Blue no matter what it takes" he screamed hitting against the wall.
He went back to his hotel room, his mind full of anger and questions. He took a glass of water, his mind racing, as he tried to make sense of Blue's cryptic note. He knew he had to act fast, but where should he start from? Who to go to? He decided to go to the hotel's security department, maybe they could have some information.
As Jack enters the security room, he is greeted by a familiar face, Ryder, his old friend from college.
"Jack, what brings you here?" Ryder asked surprised
Jack showed him the note from Blue, "I need your help to find her".
Ryder's expression turned serious, "Let's check the footage". " I need to find her, no matter what it takes. It could escalate if reported that she was with me last night, and you know my status. It's more dangerous for her," Jack said looking dead into Ryder's face.
They spent the next hour scanning through the hotel's security cameras, finally spitting Blue leaving in a hurry. What caught Jack's attention was the black car following her.
"That's our lead," he said, locking his eyes on the screen.
"I'll get the plate number". You start canvassing the area, see if anyone has any information" Ryder said nodding.
Jack rushed out, determined to find Blue and uncover the truth. He hits the streets. Canvassing the area she was last seen. He showed her pictures to locals, shopkeepers and passersby. Hoping someone might have an information.
After hours of searching, he was not able to find anything, he was exhausted, and he went back to the hotel tired and with so much pain. He needed to go back to his City and get back to work, because all through the day, his phone has been buzzing with calls and messages from his board, reminding him of pressing issues that need to be attended to.
Jack slams his fist on the wall, frustration boiling over him. "I have got to leave" but my gut tells me I'm waking away from the only hint we have. Blue's out there and I feel like I'm abandoning her.
Mike sighed "We'll get back to it Jack, you'll have to keep your cool. What if she left cos of the text you received in the morning? what if she took it as a regular one-night stand and did not want anything to do with you? I mean, come off it, you have to put yourself together and get past this. I do believe she's fine, maybe she doesn't just want you.
Jack knows what he felt about her, he knows the connection they had last night, could Mike be right? Maybe he was just emotional because of how hot the sex was, maybe it did not mean anything to Blue. A lot of questions running through his mind then, but it didn't ease the guilt.
Jack had to return to New York, resume work and leave the search for Blue to others. But his instinct screamed that he was making a mistake.
As they got to the airport, it was already 2:45 PM. "Where are you!" Another text from the unknown number. He showed it to Ryder.
Ryder's expression turned grim. "This changes things, we can't just leave now"
But it was already late. Jack's flight was boarding. With a heavy heart, he stood up knowing he had to leave for now.
"I'll be back" Jack's eyes locked on Ryder's. "We'll figure out who this is".
They both shook hands as he departed.
