Micah
Scarlet's been unusually busy these days. I wonder why. Not that it matters—I've got plenty of time to myself now. I'll catch up with her later, after I've had my fun.
As I scanned the courtyard, my eyes landed on Dennise. A sly grin crept across my face. Playtime.
She was sitting under a tree, flipping through a book, completely unaware of my approach. Quietly, I snuck up behind her and leaned in close. "You always bury your nose in books. Do you even know how to have fun?"
Dennise jumped slightly, turning to glare at me. "Micah, do you ever announce yourself like a normal person?"
"Where's the fun in that?" I teased, dropping to sit beside her.
She rolled her eyes but didn't move away. "What do you want?"
I shrugged, leaning back against the tree. "Just thought I'd keep you company. You looked lonely."
