Scarlet
Jenna and Sera were both pacing frantically when I stumbled upon them in the hallway. Their faces were flushed, and their movements jittery, like they were racing against an invisible clock.
I frowned, taking a cautious step closer. "What's going on with you two? You look like you've seen a ghost."
They froze, whipping around to face me. Jenna's eyes darted between me and Sera, as if silently debating what to say.
"Scarlet," Sera began, her voice shaky but urgent, "we don't have time to explain everything, but you need to know... something big is happening."
My stomach twisted. "What do you mean 'something big'? Did you find out something about the shadow knights?"
Jenna hesitated before answering, her usual composure cracked. "Not exactly. But we were just in the restricted section of the library, and—"
"You what?" I cut in, my voice rising. "Jenna, you know that place is off-limits! Why would you—"
