Scarlet
Just like I promised Sera, I was determined to find the woman who had been causing her so much trouble. Whoever this mysterious person was, she clearly wasn't just a random annoyance—her illusions and cryptic behavior made that much clear.
I started my search by heading back to the forest where Sera first encountered her. The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows over the dense trees. Perfect timing, I thought. If she was lurking nearby, the fading light might work to my advantage.
As I retraced Sera's steps, I kept my senses sharp, scanning for anything unusual. The forest felt heavier than usual, like the air itself was holding its breath.
"Alright," I muttered to myself. "If you're out here, show yourself."
The only response was the rustle of leaves in the wind. For a moment, I wondered if I was wasting my time, but then, a faint laugh echoed through the trees.
