After successfully turning the dumpsters like apartment into a decent looking apartment, he began to feel hungry so he decided to arrange all the groceries first and make something for himself then feed his baby yanyan. He decided to make himself some noodles with soup dumplings.
While he was preparing to cook, he suddenly heard a ringing tone, he was puzzled about the sound until he realizes that it was a call. He immediately look for Gu Feiyan's phone and look who's calling Gu Feiyan's phone.
"My beloved brother Ran?the hell?" The name on the screen gave Gu Feiyan goosebumps and chill. "Who is this? I thought Gu Feiyan was single?" He said in confusion.
Then a thought came to him, "Could it be...yanyan's biological father? But why is he calling now? He didn't even accompany Gu Feiyan on the hospital, he wasn't register on the medical papers too. " He said staring at the screen, hesitating to answer the call.
Then, an dramatic thought came through his mind, "Could.. could it be that...Gu Feiyan...was a... mistress??" He said and hesitantly answer the call but didn't speak, he wants to know what the other side was going to say.
At first there's only silence, the caller didn't speak but Gu Feiyan doesn't want to talk first since he still doesn't know what's relationship between the original Gu Feiyan and the caller.
Finally the other side speak, " Gu Feiyan, I heard that you gave birth yesterday." The other side said with clear disdain on his voice.
Gu Feiyan was confused of how cold the tone of the caller because he thought it was the original Gu Feiyan's lover, "U-uh...yes.." he cautiously said, 'Am I a secret lover? A mistress?? A homewrecker?? '
As if not satisfied by his answer, the caller didn't speak for a while, this intensifies Gu Feiyan's nervousness. He began to think that maybe the nervousness on his tone was too obvious or maybe he choose the wrong word to say.
Then he heard him say something that makes him froze, "I thought I told you six months ago to abort it? Are you planning on using that bastard of yours to tie yourself to me? Don't even think about it because if you do, I will kill you and that bastard, then I will make sure that none of the people that knows you will ever find even a single piece of your bones." He said in a very threatening voice, Gu Feiyan know that he meant every word of it.
Before he can even recover, the call was ended. Gu Feiyan stood there frozen. He couldn't understand why that guy hate the original Gu Feiyan so much he wouldn't even spare the child that came out of him. He looks at his yanyan that was peacefully sleeping on the couch and couldn't help to feel a little hurt because what the caller said to him. His eyes began to redden and tears began to roll down his cheeks.
He wonder just what did the original Gu Feiyan have done to be hated this extreme. The caller's disdain and disgust for him(og Gu Feiyan) was so strong that even him was affected. He feels pity for the child, he doesn't deserve to be hated just for something an adult did, he was innocent.
" I guess at least I don't have to worry about having to pretend like the original Gu Feiyan." He said to himself as he wipes tears trying to cheer himself up.
He went back to the kitchen and continue cooking to forget about the call. After eating, he was just about to wash the dishes when he hears yanyan's cry. He went to check on him and saw that he was awake.
He deactivate the automatic nylon net and gently put yanyan on his arm, " What's wrong little bunbun? Are you hungry?" He said with a gentle voice.
The baby immediately stop crying when he saw Gu Feiyan's face and began to rub his face on Gu Feiyan's chest as if asking for milk. "Alright.. daddy will get your milk ready." He said and takes out the breastfeeding equipment.
He buys the already assembled one because he doesn't want to assemble it every time he needs to feed the baby. He first put down yanyan and lift his shirt up, he put the silicone cup to his chest and click the start button. He began to feel the painful sucking feeling on his chest again, his face was already contorted because of the pain.
After the bottle was half full, he immediately turn off the equipment and rub his painful chest, "I can never get used to this." He said and puts the equipment back to his spatial ring.
He next takes out a small white box that looks like a mini microwave, he put the milk bottle inside and set the timer. After warming it up, he first drop some on his wrist just to make sure the temperature was just right, he doesn't want his baby to burn his little delicate tongue.
After putting back the small white box to his spacial ring, he put his yanyan on his arm and feed him his milk. Yanyan sucks hungrily and even letting out some cute little sound while drinking. His round golden eyes was focus on Gu Feiyan's face as if trying to memorize his father's facial features.
Gu Feiyan's smile deepens seeing his son's focused gaze on him, he gently rub his head, "What's the matter, bunbun?" He said.
Looking at his innocent gaze, Gu Feiyan once again remember the call earlier. " Don't worry. Since I'm the who brings you to this world, I will always protect you. We don't need anybody else right? Just you and me, we can still be a happy family." He said stroking his son's head.
He vowed to himself that he will not let anyone hurt his yanyan, even if it's his biological father. Since it was clear that he doesn't want anything to do with him and his baby, then he can just forget about him, this city was so large there's only a tiny chance they ever meet again. Even if they do, he wouldn't know since he doesn't even know his face.
He wouldn't let himself to be bothered by a someone that hate his baby. He decided to build a bakery shop and not to go to work as a hunter until yanyan starts to go to school. Raiding gates was a dangerous job and sometimes it will takes days or even months to finish. Even through he really likes to experience the work of a hunter and see the insides of a gate with his own eyes he wants to focus on his child first.
He looks down on his baby that was busy with his milk, "Let's work hard together, my dear yanyan." He said and kissed yanyan's forehead.
