According to the guides: The Eternal Set in the Ninth World differs greatly from ordinary equipment due to its ranking system, ranging from D to SSS.
The Eternal Set possesses special countering effects against the Beasts in the Ninth World. The higher the grade of the set, the stronger the countering effect. Therefore, in the Beast Kingdom, the Eternal Set is the Beasts' nemesis.
Moreover, the Eternal Set is essential for survival in the Ninth World.
The Beasts in the Ninth World range in level from 56 to 60.
Beasts at levels 56–57 are typically graded B to D. Even without an Eternal Set, stronger players can manage them.
But for Beasts at level 58 and above, graded A or higher, they are incredibly challenging to deal with without an Eternal Set.

According to the guides: Quests from Beast merchants in the Ninth World's safe zone are categorized into four ranks: A, B, C, and D.
Default rewards are D-rank, but completing double the required progress upgrades the reward to C-rank, triple upgrades it to B-rank, and so on...
In other words, the Abyss Spider quest required 300 illustrations. If the player collected 600, 900, or 1,200 illustrations, the reward would correspondingly upgrade to C, B, or A-rank.
This is why most players in the Ninth World could only collect A or B-grade Eternal Sets.
To access S-grade quests, players needed to encounter advanced Beast merchants in the wild.
After accepting the quest, Zhang Yue exited the city through the northern gate.
He planned to complete the quest while keeping an eye out for high-level Beast merchants.

Before the discovery of the Eternal Set, humans couldn't resist Beasts not because they couldn't kill them but because killing them was excessively difficult.
The Beasts' traits granted them significant suppression effects against humans.
The Eternal Set's special ability was to negate these suppression effects.
Currently, Zhang Yue didn't have an Eternal Set yet.
However, the C-grade Beast's 20% suppression effect (meaning the Abyss Spider dealt 20% extra damage to humans and reduced 20% of damage received) was negligible to Zhang Yue.
