Liam discovers that he has been transported to a different world, determined to embrace a thrilling and joyful life. His first decision is to join the Straw Hat crew, seeing them as the safest and most protagonist group to be with. Making his way to the passenger ship, he encounters Alvida mistreating her men, and quickly heads to the ship's basement.In the storage room, he finds Luffy finishing his meal and Coby expressing his desire to join the Marines and capture Alvida himself. As the door opens, Liam is met with a tense standoff between Coby, Luffy, and himself. Before he can speak, Lady Alvida crashes through the deck and reaches the storage unit.The events unfold just as they did in the anime, leading to a confrontation with Lady Alvida. During the battle, Liam manages to strike her in the head, enraging her. As she prepares to attack him, Luffy intervenes and defeats her. Liam then introduces himself, fabricating a backstory about being Alvida's slave, and expresses his gratitude to Luffy for saving him. He also shares his dream of embarking on a grand adventure, and Luffy agrees to let him join the crew.
