After saying that, Jiang Chenyu coldly remarked, "It's just wishful thinking."
He left the living room and went outside, heading straight for the small dark room where Jiangsu was usually locked up.
He picked up the lock and looked at it, then said to the servant who was standing nearby, "Open the door."
Inside the room, Gu Nuannuan suddenly opened her eyes.
It was Jiang Chenyu's voice. What was he doing here? The servant replied,
"The second young master was locked up by the master, and we don't dare open it without the master's permission."
Jiang Chenyu laughed sarcastically, "Then let your master pay your wages in the future." He stepped back and kicked the door open.
Gu Nuannuan was startled by the kick and quickly scooted to the side to avoid getting hurt by the door. Jiang Chenyu entered and looked at the girl hiding inside. "Do you want to stay here that badly?"
"No," she shook her head.
"If you don't want to, then come out."
Jiang Chenyu waited at the door, but Gu Nuannuan hesitated and didn't dare to move.
"If you don't come out, do you want me to help you pack your bags?" Jiang Chenyu asked again.
Pack her bags? Where would they go?
Jiang Chenyu couldn't wait any longer. He entered the small dark room, bent down, pulled her up from the floor, took her arm, and led her out of the room.
As they left, Gu Nuannuan turned around and saw the poor door that Jiang Chenyu had kicked open. The door frame was loose. How strong was this man?
He led her all the way back to the living room. There, Gu Nuannuan met Jiang Lao again. She stopped, and Jiang Lao, whose eyes were bloodshot with anger, glared at her.
"Jiang Chenyu! Is this what you mean by giving me face?" Jiang Lao bellowed. He had just put her in solitary confinement, and not even ten minutes later, his son had come to rescue her! And he still had the nerve to claim he was showing respect!
Jiang Chenyu's Adam's apple bobbed. "Letting you put her in solitary confinement, even if just for a few minutes, is already giving you face." With that, he dragged Gu Nuannuan upstairs.
The bewildered Gu Nuannuan was confused. Were Jiang Chenyu and his father not on good terms?
Once they reached the bedroom, Jiang Chenyu released her hand and said, "Didn't you want to move out of the Jiang family? Pack up now, and we'll leave tonight."
Gu Nuannuan was shocked. "Ah, ah, you agreed?"
Jiang Chenyu replied, "For everyone's sake, it's better if you leave early."
"You should have said so earlier! If you'd told me sooner, there wouldn't have been so much trouble," she muttered, pursing her lips.
She quickly packed her belongings. There weren't many to begin with, so she finished in no time.
Just then, Jiang Chenyu received a call. It was Nangong Zi. He answered, "Hello, what's up?"
"Brother, did you catch your runaway wife yet?"
Jiang Chenyu glanced at Gu Nuannuan, who was folding blankets on the sofa, and replied, "Zi, do you want to meet up?"
"Of course, brother. I came back to help you find your wife."
Jiang Chenyu said, "Ask Bai Chen to join you."
Gu Nuannuan overheard and softly asked, "Are you going out?"
"Oh, Chenyu, was that the voice of your wife or your new love?" Nangong Zi teased from his way to the airport, his gossip interrupted.
Jiang Chenyu didn't reply to his friend's comment. He hung up the phone and said to Gu Nuannuan, "You finish packing first. I'll go out and handle something, and I'll come back to pick you up this evening."
"Oh, okay. I'll wait for you."
Gu Nuannuan had just been rescued, and Jiang Chenyu had promised to take her out to live elsewhere, so she obediently listened to him. Even Jiang Chenyu, who had always been serious with her, suddenly seemed much more pleasant in her eyes.
She watched Jiang Chenyu leave the house, and then quickly went to charge her phone to report her safety to her friend Su Xiaomo.
