Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 Fighting

After thinking it through again, she came up with a new plan. For these 12 days, she would just stay quiet.

So, she hardly left her bedroom door at the Jiang household and tried her best to avoid Jiang Lao and Wei Aihua.

She thought she could keep avoiding the two of them, but she didn't expect Wei Aihua to humiliate her parents.

That day, Gu's father and mother were worried that their daughter might be suffering in the Jiang family. Usually, Gu Nuannuan would talk to her parents every day, but recently, she often couldn't stand hearing their voices. Whenever she heard them, she would choke up and couldn't speak.

So, the couple decided to come see their daughter.

Before visiting, they bought expensive gifts.

Gu's mother felt a little uneasy during her first visit. She was worried that anything she said or did might affect her daughter's situation in the Jiang family.

Wei Aihua noticed this and sneered.

According to the servants, Wei Aihua received Gu's parents as the hostess of the Jiang family. She looked at Gu's father and mother with a condescending attitude.

When she saw the gifts they had brought, she barely glanced at them and ordered the servants to set them aside.

Gu's parents wanted to visit their daughter, so Wei Aihua instructed a servant to go upstairs and call her.

But Gu Nuannuan didn't hear any calls the entire day.

Later, she found out that it was Wei Aihua who had instructed the servant to merely go through the motions.

Gu's parents, being in their forties and experienced with people, understood everything from Wei Aihua's expression.

Furthermore, the servant said that their daughter wasn't at home.

So, they got up and left without even drinking a sip of tea.

Gu Nuannuan was unaware of any of this. Later, when she went downstairs, she saw Wei Aihua, in high heels, kicking the gifts her parents had brought and cursing them. Gu Nuannuan stood behind her and asked, "Who do you think sent those?"

Wei Aihua turned around and looked at the girl, fists clenched. She didn't hide anything. "They're as cheap as you are. Even my servants don't like them. Who else could have sent them but your parents? They missed you, but unfortunately, I sent them away."

Gu Nuannuan's eyes turned red. She walked up, gritting her teeth. "What did you just say?"

"I said your parents missed you, came here, and I scolded them until they left in disgrace... ah!"

Gu Nuannuan swung her fist at Wei Aihua's face.

Everyone was stunned.

Gu Nuannuan punched Wei Aihua to the ground.

Then, the servants rushed forward—one grabbed Gu Nuannuan, and another helped Wei Aihua up.

Several servants hurried to inform the men of the house.

Everyone in the family, including the servants, knew that the two young ladies of the Jiang family didn't get along.

They would argue every time they met, but no one expected their disagreements to escalate to this level—they had actually fought.

Gu Nuannuan pushed away the servant holding her and stepped forward to continue fighting with Wei Aihua.

Wei Aihua didn't know how to fight. She had never been in a fight in her entire life.

All she knew was that she had been beaten and humiliated. She lost her composure, biting and scratching in a crazed attempt to hurt Gu Nuannuan.

She screamed wildly, with no regard for her image. Gu Nuannuan had truly infuriated her.

But Gu Nuannuan could only think about what Wei Aihua had just said to her.

It was one thing for her to be mistreated. For the sake of her family, she had gone against her own heart and married a man she didn't know, living a depressing life every day. But now, the parents she had always protected were also being wronged. Gu Nuannuan's anger flared, and she pushed Wei Aihua to the ground again.

Her eyes were red, and tears blurred her vision.

Jiang Lao hurried over.
