When I was young I was happy and naive but now I know how the world works. So many dreams crushed by the cunning.

My name is Kai Morningstar, and I am 20 years old. I come from a poor and abandoned district called Ethereal. The world has never been kind to me but I am not your go-lucky guy. I do not like the world back either, however, I will stop at nothing to get my name known as an actor. If I have to act happy as if everything were ok then becoming an actor is the ideal job for me.
After receiving some advice from a mysterious person, I am on my way to Galeria. The capital of all entertainment. Before even being able to set foot in Galeria, I will already be judged by the Society 9. I have to act like the perfect candidate no matter what to make it to the selection, and then can I finally enter the real competition.
I pack all my belongings which isn't much but is all that I have. I look around the little dirty old shack that I have been living in and say goodbye to the place that raised me for the past 12 years. It might've not been ideal but it was still home, and now I was leaving it all behind. I harden my heart and finally leave.
"Thank you for everything."
As I make my way to the station I absorb the scenery of my neighborhood to remind myself of where I am coming from and to never forget. Home-like cages and sheds that have all been worn down are surrounded by trash from the cities that dump it all. A place that made use of all it had to survive. Even the pavement was chipping. For a place called Ethereal, it was anything but that. For that, I will never forgive the higher-ups. However, even they couldn't destroy the spirits of those who live here.
The noise of all the people at the station makes my head spin but I compose myself and finally step onto the train that will take me to Stardust and then take another to Galeria. The train itself was quite shabby but was still well-kept enough to run.
"I will be back again someday," I whispered to the last bits of my home before it soons fades away in the background of the running train. I can hear her crying to me and singing me a song of departure and love with her remaining sounds. Forever haunting me in my dreams. Back to zero here we go and where my new story will begin.
