"Otso, you couldn't even handle a simple task," Seed said sharply, her lips twisting into a mocking smile. "What do you think the Master will do when he finds out about your foolishness?"
Otso felt a cold sweat running down his neck. He knew all too well the fate that awaited him at Seed's hands, especially if she reported him to the Master. Pleading, he said, "Forgive me, Seed. I'll do anything. Please, just help me this one time."
Seed sneered, her gaze locked on Otso, clearly savoring the fear in his eyes.
Just then, Nyssa, a woman surrounded by an aura of darkness, stepped silently from the trees. She'd been watching Liam and Gareth's every move from the shadows.
With a faint smile, Nyssa held up a scroll she had deftly taken from Liam's pocket a crucial letter meant for the Emperor, now in her hands.
