This skill had changed a little as well. It from inferior to low and the words 'slightly control had dissapeared.
He activated wind control, just then, he suddenly felt a connection with the air around him, which wasn't present there before.
He felt like he could manipulate the air around him to his liking. He raised his hand while trying to make the air infront of him into a little tornado, and it did form one, although quite weak one.
Abigale stared at it with wonder, it tried to do the same with it's inferior tier wind manipulation, but there wasn't even the tinest bit of reaction at all.
Alex chuckled seeing Abigale trying to do the same with wind manipulation.
"Don't worry Abigale, you will be able to do things like these when you reach the foundation establishment realm"
He gave some words of encouragement to the depressed little guy, making it even more motivated and work harder towards becoming stronger.
"I need a good defence skill right now, so what if I make a barrier out of wind"
Alex immedeatly put this thought into action, he controled the wind to compress into a thin, invisible layer.
He tried to move it around, and it followed the direction he wanted it to move. He removed his control over the thin barrier, just as he did, the wind dissipated.
He tried to form that wind barrier once more, and the air infront of him was compressed once more. He removed his control over it and just like before, it dissipated.
He picked up a little rock from the ground and threw it high into the air, directly above him.
The rock gradually slowed down due to force of gravity, and began falling directly towards Alex.
Alex raised his arm and began controling the air around him to form a thin barrier. The stone collided with the thin and fragile looking wall made of wind, but the stone was completely blocked and was stuck mid Air.
Just then,

He was suprised, he actually got a skill from doing this. He thought it was only possible to obtain skills through beast contracts. But the system cleared his doubt.
[There are many ways to learn skills host, forming beast contracts is just one of the methods. You can also learn skills by practicing something continously like you did just now.]
Alex only came to know this now, but it was quite understandable, since if making beast contracts was the only way, all cultivators would be beast masters. While thinking of this, he pulled up the details of wind skill.

He still couldn't beleive that he had gotten a skill just like that. This made him wonder 'can I make other new skills using wind contro l?'. But that is a story for another time.
Now, it was finally time to test out his new skill he gained from Abigale after advancing to the foundation establishment real.
Flight!

tier: mid
Effect: grants the user the ability to fly in the sky.
Cost: 1 stamina point per second]
"Hmmm... system, why is there a cost collumn in this skill description"
[All skills that are higher than low tier skills cost energy to use, and flight is no exception]
Alex understood this but, there was a little problem, which was,the cost was too much.
'1 stamina point per second! I wouldn't last more than a minute and a half'
'Well, I will test out flight later'
Alex decided to call it a day and find a tree to spend the night. Luckily, the trees became larger as he went deeper, making it easier to find a good spot. And with the help of Abigale, he quickly found a suitable loction.
He took out some fuits and began eating together with Abigale. While he was eating, he suddenly remembered he got a notification fron the system saying that he got 20 EXP after killing that ape.
"Yo system, how do I get these EXP thingy, is it by just killing beasts?."
[Host can obtain EXP by killing others, but it isn't the only way. You can get exp from completing missions as well. note that you will gain EXP in future missions]
"Oh so thats how it is, then do I get more EXP by killing stronger creatures?"
[Affirmative host! you can get more EXP by killing stronger beings. But it also means you will get lesser EXP when killing weaker creatures]
After reading all this, he decided to go hunting the next day, but for now
"Lets sleep for now"
He had been under pressure all these past months, so he thought it wouldn't do any harm to take a rest once in a while.
But Abigale thought otherwise, it decided to keep cultivating. It went onto cultivate till the next day.
...
The first thing that Alex noticed when woke up was Abigale sound asleep.
"C'mon little guy, rise and shine"
But Abigale showed no reaction,so he took it in to his hand and kept on his head, under the spider carapace. There was a slightly large crack in the carapace from one of his previous battles, and it provided just enough air for Abigale to breathe.
Alex went out in search of beasts to kill. And he quickly found his first victim crawling on the roots of a tree, a large snake.
He didn't rush though, because if he was correct, the snake should also be around the first layer of foundation establishment realm.
He silently approached it from behind. After making sure that the snake didn't sense his presence, he used gale slash in the direction of the snake in a horizontal way. It instantly severed it into two unequal parts.
