If Damien's state was mild when I saw him last, Cecilia was even worse.
As she removed her hood, she revealed a bruised and battered body. Dark spots surrounded her eyes and I couldn't help but wonder how she even managed the journey.
She looked like she could barely stand, but her eyes remained calm as usual, almost as if her physical appearance was only a mask.
"Hey, Arielle. It took me a while to find you..." she whispered as she got to her feet and began to come towards me. But her weak knees wobbled, and she was going to hit the ground when Riley caught her.
"Shit!" Riley hissed as she sat her back down.
Seeing Cecilia in that sorry state, I rushed to her and bent before her. "Cecilia, what happened? Why are you in this state?"
Cecilia coughed several times and forced a smile. "It's fine, I'm alright—" she wheezed.
