Chapter 164 - Chapter 164: Shared Pain

"Did you encounter a White Walker?" Bran's words startled Jon. He didn't expect Bran to know the movements of the White Walkers. So how did they survive in the hands of the White Walkers?

Seeing Bran nodded calmly, Jon always felt that Bran was not as lively and cheerful as before, and he also gave him a sense of strangeness.

And what on earth was he doing beyond the Wall? He was accompanied by the legendary Children of the Forest!

But this was obviously not the time to ask these questions, so Jon planned to ask in detail in private.

In the hall of Castle Black, after hearing that Bran brought news about the White Walkers, Stannis also came here with the Onion Knight Davos and the Red Lady Melisandre.

"How did you know the White Walkers were about to get here?" Looking at Bran's inconvenient legs and feet, Stannis doubted that they had really seen the White Walkers.

"I know more than that. I also know why your daughter left you." Bran turned his head and looked at Stannis who was asking him a question and answered irrelevantly.

Stannis stared at Bran for a few seconds, and seeing that he was unmoved, he turned his head back and said nothing more.

Melisandre was watching Bran from the side. She had never expected that Jon's half-brother would be a greenseer.

In today's world where even aliens are extremely rare, there is a Green Prophet who can only be born once in a thousand aliens.

She certainly didn't doubt what Bran said, nor did she doubt his identity.

The Children of the Forest only follow the Greenseer and hate humans. If Bran were not the Greenseer, they would never appear here.

And she also felt the breath of the old gods from Bran.

Feeling Melisandre's gaze, Bran also looked at her. He also felt a different aura from Melisandre.

Although he could not identify the source of the breath, he guessed Melisandre's identity from the knowledge of the gods he learned from the Three-Eyed Raven Brynden.

Listening to the conversation between Stannis and Bran, Jon was even more confused about Bran's current situation.

But when he saw Bran and Melisandre looking at each other, he felt the similarities between Bran and the mysterious Melisandre.

"The Night King may reach the Wall in a dozen days at most. Even though the Wall is tall, it may not be able to withstand their attack."

"If you want to kill White Walkers and wights, you must have enough Valyrian steel weapons or dragonglass weapons."

"What are wights and dragonglass?" Jon asked in confusion after hearing Bran's words.

Bran turned his gaze to Jon and explained, "The wights are transformed from dead creatures. Both the Night King and the White Walkers have the ability to transform wights."

"And the White Walkers were created by the Night King. The one you killed with the Valyrian steel sword Longclaw was a White Walker."

Hearing Bran mention the White Walkers he killed reminded Jon of what Bran had just said to Stannis about his daughter.

Jon speculates that Bran may have the uncanny ability to see what happens to other people.

Glancing at everyone, Bran continued, "If you want to kill a White Walker, you must use Valyrian weapons or dragonglass weapons."

After that, Bran took an obsidian dagger from Meera and said, "This is dragon crystal."

Jon walked over, picked up the dagger and flicked it lightly. The black, almost transparent dagger made a crisp sound.

Jon doubted whether the dagger would break if he exerted a little more force; it was too fragile.

"Dragon crystal is also known as obsidian. Although it is very brittle, it is one of the most effective weapons against White Walkers."

Seeing Jon's somewhat skeptical look, Bran explained again.

"Can wights only be killed with these two weapons?" There are probably no more than twenty Valyrian weapons in all of Westeros.

As far as he knew, the production of this kind of dragon crystal was not very high. Thinking of the overwhelming number of undead outside the Wall, Jon felt a little powerless.

"The wights are afraid of ordinary flames, and being burned by flames for a long time can also kill them." Bran told Jon a piece of news that made him slightly happy.

"Apart from these, is there no other way to deal with the wights and the White Walkers?" Davos, who was next to Stannis, suddenly asked.

Hearing Davos' question, Bran hesitated for a moment before saying, "It is said that dragon flame can also kill wights and white walkers. I don't know if it is true or not."

After saying this, Bran thought of the black dragon that made him afraid and unwilling. Just as he was about to continue speaking, he saw some strange expressions on the faces of Jon, Stannis and others.

Seeing the confusion in Bran's eyes, Jon took the initiative to explain: "Daenerys, the Mother of Dragons, has already brought her three dragons and 100,000 troops to Dragonstone. She should attack King's Landing, not the Wall."

"Three dragons?" Bran asked in surprise. One black dragon had threatened him twice. Suddenly hearing that there were two more dragons, Bran became even more depressed.

"You don't know?" Melisandre looked at Bran, very confused.

In her opinion, such an important matter should not escape the eyes of Bran, the green prophet.

Melisandre's question hit Bran's sore spot. He also wanted to know, but unfortunately he didn't dare to watch anymore after being threatened twice in a row.

Drogon is Bran's pain, and also Melisandre's pain.

She had originally asked Stannis to go to the Slaver's Bay to destroy the black dragon based on the prophecy she got from the flames. However, because Robb was still alive, Stannis did not quite trust the Lord of Light, and followed Davos' advice to come to the Wall.

And now Daenerys has come to Westeros with three dragons and an army of 100,000. With Stannis' current strength, he would be committing suicide even if he went there.

Now she can only continue to follow Stannis, the chosen one, and take one step at a time.

Bran's silence instantly made the hall silent. Davos turned around and looked at the others. Seeing that no one was talking, he hesitated for a moment and asked, "Is the Night King the leader of the White Walkers? How do we kill him?"

Looking at Davos who was asking the question, Bran hesitated for a moment before saying, "The Night King... We don't know the specific method to kill him. Valyrian weapons or dragon fire may be able to do it."

Most of the information Bran talked about came from the Three-Eyed Raven and the Children of the Forest. Bran also asked how to kill the Night King, but did not get any definite answer.

When Jon was rescuing scattered wildlings outside the Wall, he witnessed the horrific scene of the Night King resurrecting a large number of dead people.

I felt a chill in my heart when I heard that Bran couldn't tell me how to kill the Night King.

If the Night King, the source of the White Walkers and the Wights, cannot be killed, more and more dead people will be resurrected and they will never be killed.

"Do you know where there is a large amount of dragon crystal? The dragon crystal we have is not enough to resist the Death Legion."

Bran asked as he looked at the others in the hall, he also knew that the art of making Valyrian steel had been lost since the destruction of the Valyrian Freehold, making Valyrian weapons extremely rare.

Jon glanced at the dragonglass dagger in his hand. He didn't know where the dragonglass was.

Seeing Jon frown slightly, Bran looked at the others.

"There is a dragon crystal mine under Dragonstone."

Just when Bran thought that no one present knew where the dragonglass was stored, he suddenly heard Stannis' voice.

After Stannis finished speaking, Jon's eyes lit up. He was already a little disappointed, but he didn't expect to hear good news from Stannis.

Hearing about Dragonstone from Stannis again, Bran knew that the Mother of Dragons and her three dragons were there.

As for how to mine dragon glass, that is something that Stannis, the self-proclaimed Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Jon, the commander of the Night's Watch, should consider.

He could only tell them information about the White Walkers.
