Chapter 158 - Chapter 158: The Princess in the Prophecy

Gritting his teeth, Bonifer drew the long sword from his waist, knelt on one knee and raised the sword above his head, "Your Majesty, the Hundred-Man Crusade will serve you from today!"

Daenerys helped Bonifer up and said solemnly, "I will definitely live up to you!"

Putting away his sword, Bonifer introduced Daenerys to the layout of Harrenhal, and Daenerys asked him about her mother Rhaella.

Daenerys only then found out that Bonifer had been in love with his mother Rhaella for some time.

Later, Daenerys' grandfather, King Jaehaerys II, heard from a forest witch that the prophesied prince would be born from the offspring of Aerys and Rhaella, so he arranged for Rhaella to marry Aerys.

Daenerys didn't expect that there was such a secret in her parents' marriage, but her two brothers were dead and she was not a prince, so it seemed that the prophecy could not be taken seriously.

After listening to Bonifer's narration, Drogon also thought about the content of the prophecy. He has now completely transformed from an atheist to a person who even possesses divinity. How dare he not believe in those mysterious things?

He seemed to have heard this sentence before, of course not from Bonifer. What impressed him most was that Missandei, who mastered nineteen languages, reinterpreted this sentence.

In High Valyrian, the prophecy refers not only to the prince but also the princess, and the prince is just a general term.

But no matter whether it was the prince or the princess, the Mother of Dragons did not survive to the end, and the prophecy still did not come true.

This reminded drogon of the old saying "Of the forty-nine things in the universe, only one is missing."

It is unclear whether the prediction was inaccurate or unpredictable changes occurred due to external interference.

Just as Drogon was lost in thought, a fast horse suddenly galloped all the way from outside the castle.

Daenerys recognized the man as a Dothraki scout, and she and Bonifer went to meet him.

"Khaleesi, ten thousand cavalry are coming from the south and heading northwest." The young Dothraki scout said breathlessly.

"Northwest? Isn't it coming towards us?" Daenerys frowned and thought about the map of Dragonstone and asked.

"They should pass under God's Eye Lake and will not meet us." The scout answered with certainty.

Daenerys looked at Jorah, who was thinking with his chin in his hand, and did not disturb him.

"When King's Landing learned that we had left Crab Claw Peninsula, they probably mistakenly thought that we were going to lift the siege of Riverrun, so they sent cavalry directly from under God's Eye Lake to Riverrun." Jorah said after thinking for a moment.

After Jorah finished speaking, Daenerys also thought of this possibility.

"Can we intercept them before they reach Riverrun?"

Ten thousand cavalrymen are a considerable force for King's Landing, and Daenerys doesn't want to miss the opportunity to destroy them.

"It should be possible if it goes faster." Jorah looked at Daenerys with his eyes lighting up.

"Ser Bonifer, you will continue to guard Harrenhal. I will send the Dothraki over later."

After Daenerys finished speaking to Bonifer beside her, she took a few quick steps, rode on Drogon's back, and flew out of the castle.

He flew outside the city and explained the situation reported by the scouts to Jaco and others who were depressed about having no battle to fight.

When Jaco and others heard that there were 10,000 cavalrymen to fight, they immediately became excited, jumped on their horses and followed Drogon to gallop westward towards Riverrun.

Watching Daenerys leading 20,000 Dothraki passing through Harrenhal in a shocking manner, Bonifer could not help but observe a moment of silence for the 10,000 cavalrymen in King's Landing.

Encountering the Dothraki, a group of natural cavalrymen who were twice their number, it would be difficult for those 10,000 men to escape.

After receiving a report from a spy in King's Landing about the sudden action of the Dothraki on the Crab Claw Peninsula, Cersei held an emergency meeting to guess where the Dothraki's target was.

According to the spies' report, they were heading towards Riverrun. Some people suspected that their destination was Harrenhal, but the speculation was quickly overturned.

A ruined castle and the relief of the siege of the Wolf Family in Riverrun, thereby gaining their loyalty or making them an ally, of course the latter is more likely.

After the analysis, Cersei immediately sent Jaime to lead 10,000 cavalry to support Riverrun.

With no one else available, Cersei sent her brother Jaime, the captain of the Kingsguard, to the front line.

Near God's Eye Lake, three hours of galloping made Jaime a little exhausted. He knew that the warhorse under his crotch had almost reached its limit. Even so, he didn't know whether he could arrive before the Dothraki relieved Riverrun.

At this moment, James, who was leading the galloping in front, suddenly heard shouts and neighings of war horses mixed in with the sound of rapid horse hooves.

He looked back and saw the Dothraki behind him waving their scimitars and charging into his cavalry like beasts.

Several heads rolled and fell in the air, followed by several columns of blood rising into the sky.

Jaime immediately understood what was going on. The Dothraki had not gone to Riverrun at all, or they were waiting here to ambush them.

He shouted and turned his horse, ordering the troops to turn around and fight back.

As soon as he turned around, he saw a huge shadow flying in the sky on the right. The huge body and wingspan were nearly 100 meters, pressing towards his army.

When it reached above the army, a purple-black dragon flame spewed out from the dragon's mouth and swept towards the soldiers on the ground.

The soldiers who didn't have time to dodge were drenched by the dragon flame. They had just uttered a syllable from their throats and their hands hadn't made any more movements when they were turned into charred bones. A breeze blew and the charred bones could no longer stand and scattered into broken bones on the ground. The area covered by the dragon flame turned into a large open space.

James, who was watching this scene from afar, suddenly felt a shudder from the bottom of his soul, which made his whole body tremble uncontrollably. Even clenching his teeth could not stop his whole body from shaking.

The Dothraki and King's Landing soldiers who were fighting around were all deeply shocked by the scene before them. They stopped fighting and looked at the ground in front of them which was covered with broken bones.

Just now there was a group of lively people and horses there, but now it is empty.

Daenerys, who was sitting on the dragon's back, was also shocked by the scene before her. She didn't expect that Drogon's dragon flame would be so terrifying.

In the past, it could only burn people into charcoal, but now it directly turns people into broken bones.

[This is too bullying!] Looking at the large open space below, drogon couldn't help but sigh in his heart.

He actually didn't want to spit out the dragon flame, but since he was already here, it would be unreasonable not to spit out some, so he just used it to intimidate them.

The King's Landing soldiers who were frightened by Drogon's dragon flame were stunned for a moment and then ran away from Drogon. Some even turned their horses around and tried to escape the battlefield.

But no matter how fast they ran, they were no match for the Dothraki who rode faster. They caught up with them, raised their arakhs, and a head flew into the sky.

After Drogon spat out a breath of dragon fire, he stopped killing. Twenty thousand Dothraki roaring warriors were simply a crushing defeat against the ten thousand cavalry of King's Landing.

He did not have much hatred towards the soldiers of King's Landing. If Daenerys' army was at a disadvantage, he would certainly not hesitate to use dragon flames, but now he did not want to do too much unnecessary killing like adults bullying children.
