Chapter 99 - Chapter 99: First Hearing of White Walkers

Daenerys nodded, without asking the reason for their quarrel. She believed that Tyrion's analysis should be correct.

"The marriage between Highgarden and Lannister..." Tyrion was about to say that the marriage between the two families was a foregone conclusion and could not be shaken.

Suddenly I remembered that Olenna, the Queen of Thorns, was one of the masterminds behind the poisoning of King Joffrey. Varys has already received this information from the mysterious man, and it should not be wasted.

Seeing that Tyrion stopped talking halfway, Daenerys looked at him with some doubt. Just as she was about to ask, she heard Tyrion suddenly ask, "Your Majesty, do you know the mastermind behind the poisoning of Joffrey?"

Daenerys learned about Joffrey's death from Tyrion. At that time, Tyrion only told her about the general process of the Purple Wedding and his trial, but did not reveal the mastermind behind the Purple Wedding.

Seeing Daenerys shaking her head in confusion, Tyrion thought to himself that it was as expected. The mysterious man did not tell Daenerys about this.

Hearing Tyrion's question and looking at the expression on his face, Drogon knew that he was guessing the identity of the mysterious man again, and immediately looked at him as if he knew nothing.

Tyrion stopped trying to read anything from the dragon's face and explained to Daenerys, "It was Olenna, the Queen of Thorns in Highgarden, and Petyr Littlefinger, the Chancellor of the King's Landing, who conspired to poison Joffrey. Sansa, the daughter of Lord Stark, was also involved, but she probably didn't know about it."

After Tyrion finished speaking, Daenerys couldn't help but widen her beautiful purple eyes. She didn't expect Joffrey's death to be so complicated.

She asked with some interest, "Do you know how they carried out the poisoning specifically?" As soon as she said this, she realized that Tyrion had become a victim of the Purple Wedding, and the one who was poisoned was his nephew, the king. It seemed inappropriate for her to ask this question.

However, the question had already been asked and it was too late to take it back. He could only wait for Tyrion to tell his story with some embarrassment.

Tyrion also noticed Daenerys's unnatural expression, but he didn't mind it.

He had no feelings for that monster nephew, and he had long since forgotten the consequences of the Purple Wedding. He roughly told Daenerys the causes and consequences of the Purple Wedding.

Although he did not hear the details of the poisoning from Varys, he knew the general process and had no problem helping Daenerys solve her doubts.

When Tyrion finished speaking, Daenerys asked a new question: "Why did they kill Joffrey?"

Murdering the king is a serious crime. Daenerys couldn't understand why Olenna and Petyr would take such a big risk and what purpose they wanted to achieve.

"Olenna probably doesn't want her granddaughter to marry Joffrey. Tommen is much better by comparison. He is younger and more likely to listen to Margaery the Rose."

"As for Littlefinger Petyr, his actions are somewhat unpredictable, and I am not quite sure about his purpose in murdering Joffrey."

Tyrion told Daenerys the results of his and Varys' analysis without hiding anything.

[Littlefinger is just a troublemaker! ] Drogon couldn't help but say in his heart after hearing what Tyrion said.

Daenerys was not surprised that Drogon knew Petyr. In her opinion, Drogon was almost an omniscient dragon who could predict the future.

After listening to Tyrion's analysis, Daenerys couldn't help but wonder where did Tyrion know about such a secret murder plan?

And he must have known about it only after his trial by martial arts, otherwise he would have already revealed the identity of the mastermind during the trial to exonerate himself.

After thinking about it, Daenerys resisted the urge to ask. This might be related to some secrets of Tyrion, and even as the queen, she couldn't force him to do it.

Then Daenerys thought that if she secretly told Cersei this news, Cersei would definitely not form an alliance with the person who killed her son. In this way, Highgarden would look for new allies, and she would have the opportunity to take advantage of it.

She was about to say it when she suddenly realized that if even she, who lacked political skills, could think of it, Tyrion should be able to think of it too.

Seeing Daenerys's changing expression, Tyrion guessed roughly. Without waiting for Daenerys to ask, he took the initiative to say: "These secrets were obtained by Varys. He may use this information."

"But if I tell my sister Cersei about this, she will kill the Queen of Thorns and Little Rose and then send troops to Highgarden. We will gain nothing and it will also increase the strength of the King's Landing army."

"It would not be a wise choice to use this to threaten Highgarden to give up the marriage with Lannister, because the Queen of Thorns believes that there is no ally more powerful than King's Landing."

"And she dared to cancel the marriage unilaterally. Even if my sister Cersei was willing, she would not allow Highgarden to insult her for the sake of the royal family's reputation. What's more, my uncle Kevan, a highly prestigious Lannister, is here, and he will not give up the marriage with Highgarden."

"As for Highgarden's possible allies, Stannis was defeated in King's Landing and could not protect himself. He may not be in the Queen of Thorns's eyes."

"So Varys should have already decided how to use that information."

After listening to Tyrion's analysis, Drogon suddenly felt overwhelmed. Fortunately, he chose to pass the message to Varys and let him handle it, otherwise he would never have thought of such a complicated thing.

Daenerys opened her mouth slightly after hearing this. With her political awareness, she couldn't understand such a deep understanding. She couldn't help but admire the brains of Tyrion and Varys.

While admiring her two subordinates, Daenerys also felt a little annoyed. It was a pity that she could not free herself now and had lost a possible powerful ally.

"Where are the other nobles?" Daenerys asked.

"Stannis can't be our ally. He will never give up his fight for the Iron Throne. He led his fleet away from Dragonstone and no one knows where he went."

"The Iron Islands are now led by Balon's brother Euron. I don't know much about him. I only heard that he was the captain of the Silence. In order to make his ship appear quiet, he pulled out the tongues of all the crew members."

"The Iron Islanders say that force is better than hard work. He is not an easy ally to make."

"If you go to Westeros, you may face two powerful and unexpected opponents, the wildlings and the white walkers!"

"Wildlings and White Walkers?" Daenerys didn't expect that before she found any allies, two enemies she had never heard of came.

"Wildlings are humans who live outside the Wall, and White Walkers... I only heard about them when I went to the Wall, but I don't know what they are specifically about. The Night's Watch said that they are humans who have resurrected from the dead, and they are extremely difficult to kill.

Daenerys didn't expect that there were humans living outside the Wall in the far north of Westeros.

It was also the first time she heard that the dead could be resurrected, which reminded her of the swollen heart of the immortals. Could it be that the White Walkers were also strange beings like the immortals or wizards?
