Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Winter is Coming

Daario saw the little black dot with Viserion, he immediately thought of Drogon. He also barely saw the scene where Drogon drew his spear and shot the crew member to death.

Daario had witnessed Drogon's power more than once, but he was still shocked by his spear throwing skill.

He was shocked but secretly happy at the same time. With Drogon, he didn't have to worry about anything happening to Viserion.

However, his happiness did not last long. After teaching Viserion a lesson and shooting the tall and strong crew member, Drogon flew into the sky and left Yunkai.

Daario could only helplessly stare at Viserys flying in the sky again, fearing that he would be injured again.

After leaving Yunkai and arriving at Astapor, Drogon saw the wreckage of ships remaining on the sea. The city walls were damaged to varying degrees, and it must have just experienced a great battle.

After looking up in the sky and not seeing Rhaegal, Drogon took a deep breath and a sharp dragon roar came out from his small mouth. The sound was not loud but it could be heard from far away.

Just two minutes after the dragon's roar was uttered, the green dragon Rhaegal flew out of the city of Astapor. Seeing how fast he flew, Drogon felt relieved that the little dragon should not have been seriously injured.

Having just experienced a great battle, Rhaegal was about to have a good sleep when he suddenly heard Drogon's call. He immediately lost all sleepiness and flew over happily.

Flying to Drogon's side, Rhaegal stretched out his big head and nodded to Drogon, then called out twice. He had finished the beating and was ready to take credit.

Drogon checked Rhaegal's body from head to toe. Apart from a few fallen dragon scales, there were no obvious external injuries. He also took out some candied dates and nuts from his backpack and threw them to her.

After eating the candied dates, Rhaegal stretched his head and opened his mouth wide to try to lick Drogon, but Drogon quickly dodged him. Rhaegal's eating was not as delicate as Drogon's, and he could not stand the strong taste.

This is only Rhaegal. If it were Viserion, he would not let Drogon rub against him. The first time Viserion rubbed against Drogon, he was almost knocked unconscious by his claw. After being slapped a few times, he learned his lesson and never dared to rub against Drogon again.

Drogon dodged the intimate gesture, and a hint of resentment flashed in Rhaegal's eyes, which made Drogon feel a chill.

Recently, Rego has been getting more and more attached to him, which makes him worried. He wonders if it's the dragon's mating season.

But they are not even two years old. Even if we calculate the age of a dragon as one hundred, two years old is still too precocious. The most important point is that I don't feel anything!

After touching Rhaegal's big head with his little paw to comfort him, Drogon took Rhaegal back to the city of Astapor. He wanted to see how the defense of Astapor was going.

He and Rhaegal came to the outside of the pyramid where Daeron was. Daeron and Little Sparrow were informed of Drogon's arrival, and they also went outside the pyramid to greet him.

Both knew that Drogon was the queen's favorite dragon, the most powerful one, and the one that could change size.

Although Drogon did not come on behalf of the queen, he was most likely here to visit the green dragon Rhaegal, so Daeron and Little Sparrow did not dare to neglect him.

Seeing the two people coming, Drogon turned to look outside the city and raised his head towards the sea.

Daeron had only spent a short time with Drogon, so he didn't understand what Drogon was trying to say, and looked to the little sparrow for help.

"Drogon should be asking about the situation of the Gis siege." The little sparrow knew that Drogon could almost understand human language completely, so he said to Daeron.

Daeron was planning to pass the news of Astapor to Queen Daenerys, and Drogon arrived just in time to bring the letter.

Since Drogon was concerned about the battle on the sea, he briefly said: "Rhaegal burned most of the trebuchets and killed many crew members. The Gis people did not expect that the queen's dragons could be used on the battlefield so soon, and they suffered heavy losses."

After listening to Daeron, Drogon thought that the Gith would not attack the city again in the short term after suffering a loss at the hands of Rhaegal unless they could find a way to deal with the dragons.

Just in case, he planned to let Rhaegal stay in Astapor for a few more days to deter the Gith.

After Daeron finished speaking, he asked Drogon if he could send a message to Daenerys. When Drogon nodded, he picked up a pen and paper and wrote a report letter.

After putting Daeron's letter into his backpack, Drogon was about to leave. Rhaegal followed him reluctantly for more than ten kilometers before returning to Astapor with Drogon's comfort.

After leaving Astapor, Drogon did not return directly to Meereen, but went to the grassland to have a big meal first, gaining a wave of power of faith before returning to Meereen.

As Meereen continued to interrogate the captured Sons of the Harpy, Tyrion proposed several ways to solve Meereen's biggest food problem:

there were large quantities of olives, grapes and wheat planted in the mountains outside Meereen, and new free men without any skills could go there to work in exchange for pay.

Meereen is rich in wine and refined salt, and can also absorb some of the new free people.

The newly freed men were allowed to come and go freely in Meereen, and were allowed to follow the merchants and nobles who had intended to buy slaves and be employed by them.

Those who meet the requirements for admission to the institution before they leave can still be registered under the institution and can come back for further studies at any time.

But before they leave, they must sign an employment agreement and receive advance payment, otherwise they cannot leave with the merchants.

Those who have a skill can continue to serve the Great Master as long as they are paid.

Another major measure proposed by Tyrion was to expand the army and recruit soldiers. After the riots in Meereen and the battles to defend the cities in the other two places, both the Unsullied and the Second Sons lost a lot of manpower and urgently needed to replenish their troops.

This will not only solve the food problem for some of the new free men, but also expand Daenerys' army and prepare for the future march into Westeros.

Daenerys only has two armies, the Unsullied and the Second Sons, and is worried about the heavy losses and nowhere to replenish them. Tyrion's suggestion is exactly what she wants.

Daenerys immediately ordered Jorah to be in charge of the conscription, and notified Daario of Yunkai and Daeron of Astapor to recruit at the same time. After the recruits were recruited, they were transported to Meereen to be trained by Jorah, and Jorah would be the commander of the new army in the future.

After the conscription notice was issued, a large number of young free men signed up to join the army, and even the sons and nephews of slave owners joined.

However, this situation mostly occurred among relatives of slave owners who had no inheritance rights and wanted to gain merit in the army.

If Queen Daenerys ever rules Westeros in the future, they will also be able to be awarded titles and lands based on their merits.

Daenerys was also happy to see their joining. Most of the relatives of slave owners possessed certain knowledge or other skills, and their role in the army was often greater than that of the new free men.

After handing Daeron's report letter to Daenerys, Drogon was very worried about the wildlings and White Walkers outside the Wall. He always felt uneasy unless he went to see them in person.

Now that Slave Bay had finally settled down, he planned to make another trip to the Wall to check out the situation.

After bidding farewell to Daenerys and Shireen, Drogon flew straight to the Wall.

Three hours later, Drogon felt a chill before reaching Winterfell. The temperature was obviously much lower than the last time he went to the Wall, which reminded Drogon of the motto of the Stark Wolf family - winter is coming.
