Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Eating and Drinking

"Old ways?" Daenerys hadn't resolved her doubts about Jorah yet, and Drogon suddenly dragged her into it again. Could it be that she had done something bad in the past or in the future?

What should have been a rigorous analysis ended in a whimper as the two people and the dragon each had their own thoughts...

While traveling on the sea, Drogon did not forget to train the two dragons. They had long been accustomed to Drogon's training methods, from dodging and perfunctorily being beaten in the beginning to later fighting with Drogon and being covered in scars.

Now when two dragons fight, they don't just bite each other, they also use claws, tail sweeps, and wings to hook each other. They can often fight from the sky to the sea.

When the crew had free time, they watched the three dragons fight on the deck. They didn't expect that the dragons had been so ferocious and aggressive since they were young. They would fight to the death and even use dragon flames.

Drogon had already experimented with the extent of the damage dragon fire could cause to dragons. Short-term burning from dragon fire was bearable, with only minor skin injuries, but long-term burning was unbearable. Moreover, the power of dragon fire would increase as the dragonlet grew. Drogon's dragon fire sprayed more, farther, and at a higher temperature than the other two dragons.

Drogon and his men were having a great time fighting there, and Daenerys discussed with Jorah about where to go next.

Daenerys advocates going to Pentos, a place she is familiar with. With five large ships and the relationship with Governor Illyrio, she should be able to gain a foothold there and develop slowly. However, Jorah disagrees with her idea.

"Khaleesi, Governor Illyrio is ultimately a mercenary businessman. Although we have five ships now, we have few warriors. If we go, we will be like lambs to be missed."

"I heard that the Unsullied in Slaver's Bay are well-trained and powerful. It won't be too late for you to buy some Unsullied there before going to Pentos."

"Aren't the Unsullied the guards I saw in the Governor's Palace? They don't look like they can fight." Daenerys had a very bad impression of the Unsullied.

"Those are ordinary guards trained by slave owners. They are cheap, and many of them are the eliminated products of real Unsullied warriors."

"You are aware of the prowess of the Dothraki on horseback. Can you imagine the Unsullied defeating a host of Dothraki who outnumber them by several orders of magnitude?"

"Impossible!" After hearing Jorah's words, Daenerys directly denied it.

"Yes, you know their bravery. I have heard that the Unsullied once used spears and shields to block the continuous charge of Dothraki that was five times their number, and finally forced the Dothraki to cut their braids and give up."

"You have five large ships and full of cargo. You can make a fortune by taking them to the Slave Bay. It will be no problem to buy a thousand Unsullied with them. Then you will have the confidence to go wherever you want." Jorah spared no effort to persuade Daenerys.

Daenerys's heart was pounding when she heard Jorah's story. What she worried about most before was that she was outnumbered and the only ones who could fight were Jorah, her bloodriders, and a dozen Dothraki roaring warriors.

After the battle of the manor, the little dragons showed great power and killed a large number of invaders, which further demonstrated her lack of capable warriors. If the Unsullied were as powerful as Jorah said, she would no longer have to beg everywhere and encounter obstacles like before.

So Daenerys ordered the small fleet to advance at full speed, heading straight for Slaver's Bay.

......

With his growing size and powerful wings, Drogon was no longer satisfied with flying around five large ships on the sea. He was also tired of eating grilled fish after several days in a row, and the fresh meat on the ship was barely enough for Rhaegal and Viserion, which could not satisfy his big appetite at all.

He had been hunting almost exclusively on coastal land these past few days. This world was vast and sparsely populated, allowing him to taste a lot of wild game.

The only downside was that there was no Jhiqui to serve him. Although he had long been accustomed to using her claws and wings, it was still difficult for him to use them to gut food. He also couldn't learn Rhaegal and Viserion's way of eating whole food, which made him feel very uncomfortable while eating.

Fly in the direction of the fleet, looking for food while exploring the way and detecting storms or pirates in advance.

The crew said that there were giant sea monsters in some places, but Drogon couldn't find them after flying for several days. Instead, he encountered an unlucky pirate ship, and he spit a few breaths of fire, and then he gave the Dragon Queen another ship and a boat of sailors.

At this time, he was flying anxiously, feeling very hungry but still hadn't seen land. Did he fly in the wrong direction?

He heard from an experienced crew member that it would be possible to reach Astapor tomorrow, but he had been flying for more than an hour and had not seen any land, so there was obviously a problem.

Instead of flying forward, he soared straight up into the sky where the air was cold. Looking forward, he saw not only the land, but also a green sea in the distance.

That's... a prairie? But I've never heard that Astapor is a prairie. Did I really fly in the wrong direction?

Then drogon's eyes lit up. The grassland was great, with fat mutton and chewy horse meat. Thinking of this, drogon no longer cared whether he flew wrong or not. If he flew wrong, he would just take it as an exercise to familiarize himself with the terrain. Eating was the most important thing now. He dived and flew towards the grassland with all his strength.

Ten minutes later, they were getting closer and closer to the land, and a green ocean that stretched as far as the eye could see appeared in front of them. The Dothraki Sea was worthy of its title of sea. This grassland was so vast that Drogon seemed to see countless lambs to be slaughtered waving at him.

As he passed over the lush grassland, a scent of green grass wafted into his nose, making drogon, who had been smelling the salty sea air for several days, feel extremely comfortable.

He hadn't flown far when he saw a large group of sheep grazing leisurely in the distance. He was just about to catch two and find a place to roast them to enjoy a good meal when he suddenly smelled a familiar aroma of barbecue, which tasted better than jhiqui's cooking.

Following the smell, I saw smoke rising from the tent on the right; they were indeed barbecuing.

The ready-made barbecue with added ingredients was much better than the crude barbecue he made himself. Drogon flapped his wings and flew to the right. Before he reached the barbecue grill, he was discovered by the Dothraki who were grilling meat. They shouted and ran away.

"It's a giant bird, run away!" As a future dragon with a powerful heritage, Drogon had already mastered the Dothraki language. He was happy to see them run away so as not to disturb his meal.

After scaring away the people who were grilling the meat and the people in the tent, Drogon sat there and started eating. In addition to the large pieces of grilled meat, there was also half a sheep skewered on the grill, sizzling with oil.

After taking a few big bites of the barbecue, drogon grabbed the leather bag next to him and took a sip of mare's milk. It was sweet and sour and delicious, but it had a strong smell of mutton.

The crowd running in the distance ran for some distance before they realized that the giant bird was not chasing them, so they stopped and boldly looked at Drogon.

"It's not a giant bird, it's a dragon, a real dragon!" The crowd who stopped to watch exclaimed.

"The dragon is reborn!" More people recognized Drogon's identity. They no longer cared about the barbecue being eaten, but instead marveled at the miracle of rebirth in the vacuum.

During the time of Aegon I, the Dothraki also had records of dragons, but dragons had been extinct over a hundred years ago, so they never expected to see one again.
