Hugo sat cross legged on his bed, his eyes glued to the floating icon in the middle of his room.
His room was dimly lit, with the faint glow of his system interface casting eerie shadows on the walls.
It was loading. Slowly. Painfully slowly. The circular loading bar spun in agonising circles, mocking him with every rotation.
The anticipation was eating him alive.
"Come on already," Hugo muttered, drumming his fingers on his knee. "I literally risked my life for this. A death mission. You hear that? DEATH. If I don't at least get some legendary weapon or a personal genie to do my laundry, I'm uninstalling you."
The loading bar ticked forward just a tiny bit more, and Hugo groaned. His mind started wandering.
'What if it's a super rare weapon? Like Excalibur or something? No, too basic. Maybe a teleportation skill! Or an invisibility cloak. Ooh, what if it's a skill to make anyone instantly fall in love with me?'
