Since I want to understand the timeline, searching for the most famous person, even without being a superhero, seems like the best choice. Tony Stark immediately comes to mind. He's influential and iconic, even before stepping into the role of Iron Man.
Typing his name brings up various news articles. Hmm… the latest one shows he's been spotted with some Hollywood actress. It confirms he's still the genius, billionaire, and playboy. This likely means that if this world follows the MCU timeline, there's still some time before the birth of Iron Man.
Though, I can't assume MCU events will unfold exactly the same. What if he dies before his kidnapping?
Next, I search for another genius. I spot a headline from a month ago: "Collaboration of Two Geniuses."
It looks like Reed Richards has already joined Doom. That means the birth of the Fantastic Four isn't far off.
Should I kill him? No, it should be them. Tony, Reed, and Pym—these three are dangerous elements. Killer AIs, zombie viruses, gateways to other dimensions, time machines—what haven't their hands been on?
Doom too, but for me, Reed is more dangerous. Why? Because of Franklin Richards' potential. Some describe him as an Omega-level mutant; others say he's beyond even that. I believe it's the latter. Telepathy, telekinesis, reality-warping, precognition—he's practically a god in human form.
Since I don't want to kill a child, I'll prevent his birth in this timeline. My last option will be to either kill Susan or Reed—it depends on my mood. I will completely erase their DNA.
Next, I search for other famous articles about mutants. Nine out of ten portray them as the root cause of all problems. Reports of Magneto attacking military bases are everywhere, with people calling him the "god of the modern world," a title justified by his control over metals. On the other side, there's Xavier, giving speeches and trying to sway public opinion in favor of mutants.
Xavier and Magneto remind me of classic pairs: Hiruzen and Danzo, or Dumbledore and Grindelwald. One is a pacifist, advocating coexistence, while the other is an exterminist, pushing for domination. They're two sides of the same coin—forever connected but destined to oppose each other.
Some might argue that Xavier should take a more active role in mutant affairs. But people often overlook his perspective. As a telepath, Xavier knows more secrets about this world than most. He understands dangers that others can't even imagine.
Take the case of Jean Grey, for example. In the movies, he sealed her memories to suppress the Phoenix. Critics often question that decision, but let's consider the alternatives. Should he have let her unleash her full power and risk everything being destroyed?
Some say he should've helped her control her powers. But let's be realistic—this is the Phoenix Force we're talking about. How does one train for that? It's not as simple as teaching someone to ride a bike. Xavier himself likely didn't know how to guide her. He did what he thought was best to protect Jean—and the world—from a force beyond comprehension.
At least, that's my thought. It's not like in fanfictions where the protagonist shows up, gives her a pep talk, and she instantly controls the Phoenix Force.
Then there's Magneto. I watch a video of him casually throwing a bus like a toy. Damn, that's so cool. While telepathy has its appeal, there's something raw and captivating about Magneto's powers. Marvel even confirmed him as an Omega-level mutant. He's a symbol of hope for mutants who believe in fighting back, a rallying figure for resistance. It's as if everything he does is engineered to make a statement—loud and impossible to ignore.
I can't forget sublime and Mr sinister. Both are very tricky too handle. Mr sinister reminds me of Dominons.
Then I stumble upon reports of a green monster seen clashing with the military. Hulk. Looks like his story has already begun in this timeline. And with Hulk, there's always the looming fear of One Below All. Damn. Damn. How am I supposed to deal with all this?
Forget the interdimensional beings like Mephisto, Dormammu, or Chthon—I can't even handle my own dimension. And then there's Knull, the Celestials, Black Winter…
I sigh, staring at the ceiling.
Focus. Let's start with the basics. What do they always do in fanfictions? Build a base. Form a team. Gather information. Prepare contingency plans for every threat—with and without lethal force. If I'm stuck in this world until I somehow earn gacha tickets to jump to another, I need to focus on survival first.
And pray that "another world" doesn't turn out to be DC or Worm like. Because if it is, I'm doomed.
But before I get lost in grand schemes for survival or escape, I have something more pressing.
Revenge. Everything else can wait.
I didn't search for any information about them. Why? It's simple—I don't want to leave any clues for SHIELD to track me. They're bound to uncover AZI Pharmaceuticals' involvement in the facility, and they'll be monitoring for anyone digging into their records, especially when the location is so close to where the facility was found.
Sure, a random person might look them up, but SHIELD isn't one to take chances. They'll run background checks on anyone suspicious, and I can't afford to be on their radar right now. My priority is staying hidden, planning carefully, and making sure no trail leads back to me.
I then spent some more time searching until my allotted time was up. On my way back to the room, I also bought multiple lighters—I'll start my practice tomorrow since I want to rest tonight. I didn't forget to grab two more rolls which will be my dinner tonight. I like the taste. In the facility they only gave us some soup which too was tasteless .
