Chapter 7 - Heaven's Monument

Through out the entire day, Rann kept moving about.

His curiosity about the small school was really huge.

While Jake might be somewhere else training for the duel, Rann was less concerned which of course caused many students to pity him.

Those who pitied him was ignorant of the fact that Rann had defeated Jake the first time. And that was because, only a selected few were allowed to visit Realm of Sky ruins with Jake's permission.

Rann didn't care about those who criticized him, his only concern was to learn more about, Realm of Sky, Heaven's Monument and Scripture Pallets.

All of these sounded rather intriguing.

A day quickly passed.

Everyone was making their way to Heaven's Monument.

They wanted to watch the best fight of their lives. Some people concluded that Jake would defeat Rann and only a few believed that Rann would defeat Jake.

When Jake appeared, the nebulous chains around him had grown a lot bigger and sturdier as they wrapped around him. After unsealing himself, his power had spiked, he was now a peak Martial almost attempting a breakthrough.

Jake had already planned to breakthrough mid way through the battle so that Rann would be caught off guard and his defeat would have been sure. Obviously, everyone knows that there was a big disparity between a Lieutenant and a Sub-Parallel.

Heaven's Monument was the same as ever.

Raging gale blew around it's pavilion as everyone sat at the bottom of a hill and the minute they sat on the ancient stone, their spirit was moved to the other side.

Lighting crashed down on several occasion with the deafening clap of thunder creating a cacophony of thunderstorms thereafter.

These thunderstorms instantly merged with the strong gales and formed an enormous tornado that destroyed everything in it's wake.

Rann appeared at the bottom of the hill and saw an ancient stone.

Was he supposed to sit on this?

For someone who was new to all of these strange anomalies grew excited. He loved the texture of strange things.

He sat on the stone and his spirit moved.

"Whoa!"

He saw realms changing before his eyes.

Black and White intertwined together forming an unbridled scene that collapsed on his mental state. He saw himself elsewhere.

He was in Heaven's Monument.

Without waiting, he used one of his speed technique so that he'd quickly arrive at the place of the duel.

When Rann arrived, he was welcomed with a sea of students wanting to watch the duel... Silverton was not far off setting up a barrier so that the battle energy wouldn't stray off.

Rann also noticed Jake. He seemed to have changed... Yes, he had unsealed his powers. If he had been a one sphered Martial before, now he was three sphered, a peak Martial.

Rann looked elsewhere in utter curiosity.

When Jake saw Rann, he gritted his teeth because Rann still acted like he did at the ruins of Realm of Sky, unconcerned!..

"Alright..."

Silverton started and the place was drown in silence.

Both Rann and Jake was at the center of the battlefield and Silverton erected his barrier, to protect both duelist from the climatic change.. thunder and wind, tornado and hurricane. All were natural disasters from climatic change.

"You both are fighting for something that only one of you will get it... Be it a junior student leader or the protector of the ruins in Realm of Sky... it is you both that would destine such change. Now, fight!"

Jake didn't wait for Rann to prepare himself.

Since he acted less concerned, he might as well take him at unawares.

He acted immediately and drew his chains.

Both chains fluidly dashed towards Rann at an astonishing speed and truly it caught Rann off guard. But... that was all. Rann simply grabbed Jake's chain and drew it.

As both forces were pulling chains, the air was distorting. The barrier erected was flickering as though the heavens was about collapsing.

Jake immediately screamed.

Wind of Seasons:

Strange gale planted itself at the four corners with Rann in-between.

The wind of Seasons was supposed to erase one out of existence and that was what Jake expected.

Suddenly, Rann was instantly reduced to ashes. Jake was startled... so soon? Did he just defeat Rann without the battle getting serious?

Something is wrong somewhere!

Jake couldn't believe that he would erase Rann so easily.

Suddenly, a powerful palm collided behind him, and that was right after he heard.

Cruelty:

Jake's mind instantly turned numb. What has happened? He thought he had defeated Rann? So, how had his attack landed?

Jake turned only to see the indifferent Rann staring down at him and also then did he receive the full brunt of the palm, Cruelty.

Jake gritted his teeth.

Omnibreak:

Almost that instant, Rann attacked with,

Heaven-shattering Palm:

Both forces collided and the air twisted. The barrier almost collapsed.

Jake was knocked backwards while Rann just stood watching him.

"Impossible!"

"How's he..." Jake spat out blood and stood up.

Dayevening Punch:

The air instantly solidified at Jake's punch and Rann sighed as he raised his own fist.

Embernight Punch:

Night immediately covered the sky at Rann's fist and when both Jake's and Rann's fist collided, for the first time, the void shattered.

The heaven almost shattered.

The air was locked while the sky fell down in countless spatial pieces.

Jake's pupils shrank and he retreated.

By now, everyone who criticized Rann simply kept quiet.

But what stunned them the most was that, Rann was merely a Lieutenant and Jake was a peak Martial so how is it possible to break realm?

Jake however was in disarray.

How had they not even matched?

The first time came with the answer that he had sealed his power... but now, he was no longer sealed so why was there still disparity between them?

Jake sighed... since none of his battle techniques could defeat him or neither could his strength, then it was time to increase his realm.

Luckily he had made sure to have absorbed essence crystals to make him feel that need to breakthrough.
