Chapter 1 - Only if

It's late noon, the suns are shining brightly and the grass are greener than ever. My school is buzzing with people of different race. Fairies, angels, arch angels, even god descendants are here. I live in a world where the gods decide how things are. They decide when the rain fall, when the 9 suns set, who lives or who dies. In this world there is no one greater than them, they made the world and created the magic system. The system empowers people with the ability to posses and control magic, everyone has it.

'Except for me. *Sigh* Sometimes, I wonder if the gods actually care about us. Among my brothers, I'm the only one born without magic. It's - ow, hey." Lost in thought while walking, I failed to notice a classmate walking my direction and ended bumping into him.

"Hmm? You want something dog?" From his words alone, I lost strength in my knees and almost collapsed. I could feel an ominous aura from his body. His aura alone made the air dense and made it difficult to breathe.

"N- N- No" I could hardly breathe but I managed to stutter a word. He simply laughed and walked away as he saw how pathetic I looked. Magic is the only way to survive in this world, no matter how strong one is physically, they can't compete with magic. I was born without magic and because of that I was bullied everywhere I go. In school I'm either called dog or hybrid, at home I'm isolated. Life is just unfair, the gods are unfair, why me?

"Arata? Are you okay?" I heard a familiar and sweet voice coming from the class beside me. It was my childhood friend, Mira. She's the only one who actually treated me right aside from my parents and siblings. Her blonde hair swayed left and right as she ran out of the class to meet me. "Are you okay? You look pale."

"I- I'm fine, really. Nothing to worry about." 'I can feel her breasts against my arm. They're so soft." She eventually noticed what I was thinking about so she pushed me back. "Pervert." I couldn't help but laugh after that. For a world with 9 suns, she's the only thing that brightens my day. I've had a crush on her since I was 8 but I never had the courage to tell her. I think I should try now, there's no one around. "Mira I-"

"Hey Mira, get over here real quick."

"Okay, see you later Arata, don't get into trouble okay?"

"Haha, ok" I missed my opportunity but I'll try again after school today, I'm sure she'll be free by then.

After School

'The suns are still blazing hot. Why the hell do we even have 9 suns, that's 8 too many. Anyways, I'm ready. Mira, there's something I've wanted to tell you for a long time, I've always -' I rehearsed my lines as I walked towards an alley beside the school, there I heard a familiar voice.

"Come on, that guy? I rather get gangbanged by 20 underworld orcs than to be with him. I'm simply using him to get to his twin. Why would I like a magicless dog?"

'My heart was crushed completely as I heard that. Never would I have thought that Mira of all people were like the others.'

"I know right? Earlier this morning he was whimpered like a scared dog just because I released a little bit of my aura. How pathetic is that?"

"Hahahaha."

'No. Mira, don't laugh. This can't be. It's not like you.' In that moment, one of the guys with Mira sensed my presence and blew up the wall I was hiding behind with explosion magic.

"Huh, so did you hear everything?" Mira asked the question with no sign of remorse in her voice or face.

"Mira, please tell me all you said wasn't true. It can't be-"

"Oh just shut up. Mira this, Mira that, everything I said was true. What made you think a dog like you could get a girl like me?" Mira's words cut deep into my soul. I could hardly breathe after hearing all she has said. What made it worse was seeing another guy grab Mira's butt and squeeze it. He was caressing her body while ignoring me completely, like I was nothing more than an insect.

"You bastard!!" 8 years ago my mom made a ring for me. The ring stores up magic power and can be released. She did it so that I can experience what a little bit of magic is like at least, but she definitely didn't give it to me so that I can be fighting classmates over a girl. At this point, I could hardly care. I raised my palm towards the guy touching and kissing Mira and immediately fired a ball of hot flame which hit its mark. It didn't kill him but knocked him out but that didn't make my position any better but even worse. The other guys there all ganged up on me and beat me close to death. All I could remember seeing was Mira looking down on me which her cold blue eyes.

'Only- Only if- only if I had power, power to- fight back, power .' For an instant before passing out, I felt a rush within me which immediately got extinguished as Mira kicked me on the head.

Beep Beep Beep

"You awake?" As I opened my eyes, everywhere appeared to be blurry but I could tell whose voice was that.

"Bro? What- What am I-"

"You got beat up. Badly. Your in the clinic, you'll need to rest." From his statement I could remember what had happened prior to me regaining consciousness and only one thing came to my head.

"Mira, where's -"

"Suspended, as well as her male compliances that beat you up. They're god descendants so the best the school could do was a 3 day suspension. Nothing more than that."

'3 days?! Seriously?! I almost died and all they got was suspension for 3 days? What kind of----'

At that moment a man clad in golden armor with long blonde hair and four large white wings stepped in. He seemed to be an archangel and a high ranking one at that.

"How's he?" He asked while having a facial expression which screamed pain and regret.

"He seemed to have passed out but he'll be fine. Few more days should be enough." Arata's brother replied while trying to control his temper.

"Let's go. Let's leave him to rest." With that, the two men left the room.
