Chereads / Azar's Gift: The Silent Crown / Chapter 2 - 002- Chaos

Chapter 2 - 002- Chaos

The sky was a breathtaking masterpiece of fiery oranges and purples, with the sun bidding its farewell behind the majestic peaks of the mountains. As the day faded into twilight, two moons appeared in the sky, casting an ethereal glow over the world below. Jarec reached into his pocket and pulled out a crown that emanated a dark aura, its ancient edges and intricate designs hinting at a sinister past.

Absorbed in his thoughts, Jarec absentmindedly observed the relic in his hand while keeping an eye on the shadowy creature beside him - Velaris, his newly acquired companion.

"Where are we?" Jarec asked inquisitively, hoping to receive some answers from the enigmatic being. Velaris looked at him with round, mocking eyes as it cryptically answered, "In a world where the strong trample over the weak." Confused by this cryptic response, Jarec decided to let go of his curiosity and focus on their unfamiliar surroundings instead.

As he looked around, he couldn't help but feel like he had crossed into a different universe altogether. The forest was filled with vibrant flora of all colors - yellow, green, red, white, and even black. Towering mushrooms, grotesque thorn-covered trees, and other strange bushes and vines surrounded them. Jarec realized that he was standing in the middle of a mystical forest like no other he had ever encountered.

"Did I really cross between two universes?" Jarec mused aloud as he strolled through the forest. He noticed a man walking by with ragged clothes and a pickaxe slung over his shoulder, accompanied by an ethereal shadowy creature. Jarec's gaze shifted towards Velaris as he made mental notes about its behavior.

As Jarec reached up to touch the creature, he felt a cold, ethereal presence. Its body was wispy and intangible to the touch, like a cloud made of smoke. Yet there was a weight to it, as if it was more than just an illusion. Jarec couldn't shake the feeling that this being was more than it appeared to be.

Velaris felt like a cool breath of air on Jarec's skin whenever it passed by him. Its touch was barely noticeable but left a lingering sensation of power and otherworldliness. As he studied the creature more closely, Jarec could make out the fine details of its form - sharp pointed ears, elongated fingers, and sleek, silken hair that swirled in an unseen breeze.

Jarec reaches out to touch Velaris but his hand passes right through its form. He notices that it feels slightly cooler than the surrounding air, like a breeze from a cool spring night.

"Why is this little guy following me?" Jarec thought to himself as he stole another glance at the crown in his hand. He examined it closely and finally noticed some inscriptions engraved on the inner ring of the crown. The words were familiar, so they piqued Jarec's curiosity even more.

Surprisingly he immediately notice the way that the words engraves.

"This is English, the text is written in English language!" Jarec exclaimed loudly quickly halted his walk.

Jarec read and speak loudly the words that engraved in the crown relic.

"Within chaos lies the.."

"Seed of creation."

To my surprise, the typically indifferent Velaris abruptly interrupted me but continued speaking immediately after. "

The questions swirled in my mind as I stared at the curious mouse in front of me. How could he have known about the language from the other world? And how did he manage to read it? But even more puzzling were the words inscribed on the crown he held, their meaning eluding me. I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease and curiosity that consumed me as I tried to make sense of this unexpected encounter.

As Jarec ponders the cryptic words etched into the crown, the forest around him begins to stir. The vibrant flora sways and rustles, as if dancing to an unheard melody. Suddenly, the ground beneath his feet trembles, sending ripples through the soft, mossy earth.

A low rumble echoes through the trees, growing louder with each passing second. The air grows thick with tension as particles of dirt and stone begin to swirl in a vortex before Jarec's eyes. He stumbles backward, nearly losing his footing as the earth itself seems to come alive.

From the churning soil emerges a massive figure, its body composed of rocks, roots, and rich, dark earth. Standing easily twice Jarec's height, the elemental creature towers over him, its form constantly shifting and reforming. Glowing veins of amber crystal pulse through its rocky hide

"Fuck! What in the fucking world is that!" Jarec cursed loudly as the emergence of the scary monster unfold in front of hi

Velaris, previously nonchalant, suddenly springs into action. Its ethereal form blurs as it positions itself between Jarec and the towering elemental creature. The air crackles with energy as Velaris's shadowy body begins to pulse with an otherworldly light.

"Chaos begets order, order begets chaos," Velaris mutters cryptically, its voice a whisper on the wind. "The crown you hold is both bane and boon, mortal."

Without warning, Velaris unleashes a barrage of attacks against the earthen monster. Tendrils of pure darkness lash out, slicing through the creature's rocky hide. Where they strike, reality itself seems to warp and twist. The elemental roars in pain and confusion as parts of its body crumble away into nothingness.

Jarec watches in awe as Velaris darts.
