"Wow, it's quite amazing." Sheena was surprised for the views that she had seen.
They were driving an expressway along the mountain winding upwards to the top, on which Sheena saw the vehicles rushing to come were all those business purpose vehicles.
"Look at the cars! Are the people living on this mountain were all rich entrepreneurs?" Sheena asked curiously and frankly.
"Don't you try to pretend to be not that agrestic?" Stephan asked with the barest hint of smile.
So many girls were trying to be fashionable and noble in front of him, but the girl beside him now seemed to care nothing but eager to explore the outside world. Stephan even could see the interest in her eyes, which would never be shown in him.
"Yeah, the people living near us wouldn't be lack of money, you can describe like this." Stephan said with honesty.
"It turned out that there is physical barrier between the rich and the common people. " Sheena said out with a tone that Stephan couldn't figure out it's for indigence or acceptance.
"In fact, this is how the world works out." Stephan shrugged his shoulders, for this was a fact that nobody would deny or ever change.
"Yeah, that's why you could enjoy resources and women." Sheena smiled, pointing out the fact decisively.
However, Stephan didn't care the mocking of Sheena, because this was the truth. "I did feel lucky that I was born in a family of resources."
There was a long shocked silence before Stephan almost thought Sheena was pissed off by what he had said. But Sheena just replied with a smile, "Yes, you're a lucky boy. "
"How about..." Stephan suddenly looked at Sheena with a teasing face, "Since you have realized the huge gap between poor and rich, do you have any desire to make the fake into the fact?"
Although Stephan didn't clearly point it out, Sheena understood immediately.
With a serious face without any expression, Sheena turned to Stephan and stared at him seriously.
"Stephan, I must clarify to you that," Sheena continued as if not noticing the changed expression of Stephan, "both of us know this marriage is to be done for our grandpas, as soon as the due time comes, we should walk on the paths that we belong to."
Stephan didn't interrupt but just kept silence.
Sheena continued her confession, "what's more, you're the best in understanding yourself. How could a man with such characteristics would be trapped by a woman, right?"
It's like a slap on the face of Stephan.
Stephan induced this topic just for fun, thinking such an innocent girl would be shocked by the gap and may get tamed as all the other girls.
But the girl right in front of him had made the same statement over and over again, just to clarify she and he would end up departure. How could such a girl be so sure about she wouldn't fall into love with him? Shouldn't all girls could be tamed and conquered by money?
Stephan was so shocked by the serious statement of Sheena and he couldn't answer the questions that Sheena was trying to make difficulties for him.
"No matter what we have to do during the period, please remember the truth between you and me." Sheena made the last statement before a long silence and looking away to the far.
Stephan didn't say a word from the beginning to the end, for he understood something and was trying to force himself to withhold something.
When they arrived at the manor of Karade, at the big gate were a batch of people.
Stephan looked carefully and saw all of his family members and servants had come out to welcome.
"Wow, such a big family. " Sheena smiled and looked not so tough.
Stephan was back to the status of playboy caring nothing that he grinned and said, "Anyway, they're welcoming the first daughter-in-law in the manor."
Before Sheena could have any reaction, Stephan parked the car and a mass of people rushed to come.
"Wow, it's a pretty girl!"
"Oh, our young master's wife looks gorgeous."
"Oh, my daughter-in-law, you finally come!" A woman's voice came earlier than herself.
Sheena looked up and realized this was the mother of Stephan.
It's a voluptuous but cute woman, at the age of 50 around. You even could tell from her appearance that she must be a pretty girl in her youth.
The middle-aged man stood right behind looked so similar with Stephan.
"I'm Maggie, he is William." Stephan's mother smiled sweetly and introduced immediately.
"Aunt Maggie, Uncle William, it's my honor to meet you here." Sheena tried to be as polite as she can.
However, right after what she said, the three of them burst into laughter.
"You're so cute."
"Brilliant..." Even William Korade laughed in an instant.
Sheena was a little bit embarrassed but soon conformed by Stephan, who held her shoulders and got closer to her ear that, "they like you."
Nothing could Sheena do that she replied with a smile.
"Wow, is there anything fun that has happened before I come?" A familiar voice came, and Sheena turned around and saw Alex Korade had walked towards them by a cane with a teasing laughter.
Sheena waved her hands to deny while the rest of them all said yes.
Before coming here, Sheena regarded this as a kind of etiquette and believed this would be just a forced task. But she would expect the least on that all of them looked nicer and pleased to get along with.
In the whole day in the manor with a big courtyard which was indeed a forest, Sheena had to do nothing but hang about with Stephan's mother Maggie and his father William, who was totally funny from what he looked like.
Luxurious lunch and dinner and exquisite afternoon tea had opened Sheena's vision, not for the luxurious resources but the harmonious family atmosphere when they gathered together. Sheena didn't expect such a family background would cultivate such harmonious and warm scenes.
"How do you feel?" When Sheena was almost immersed into the thinking of the thing that had happened today, Stephan came inside with a pleased face.
Sheena was invited to the bedroom of Stephan, who was asked to tour her around. Maggie had left to take a shower while his father went to the study for business disposal.
Stephan walked inside the room and looked around, as if it's not his bedroom that he had grown up in.
"Tell you what," Stephan said while walking around, "It's been a long time since my sleep in this room last time. I've had an amazing childhood here. The mass of beautiful flowers, the flying butterflies upon the sky of the fields..."
"It sounds great..." Sheena didn't cover her envy, it turned out that Stephan had been raised up in such a lovely family, no wonder he would just enjoy fun as he liked.
Stephan laughed out, "Yeah, my childhood was great and brilliant..."
"Do you mean you're not satisfied with your present status?" Sheena was confused. If she were a man like Stephan, she may laugh to death, for he had nothing to worry at all. With such a big family background and property, he needn't worry about the money. With so many girls around him, he may even not know what loneliness tasted like. How could such a lucky boy be not satisfied with his wealth in hand?
There was a crack on the smile of Stephan, when he captured the sight of Sheena, who was confused and frankly showing her attitude towards his thinking.
"Do you think I'm just too greedy?" Stephan sat down on his bed, while Sheena was on the sofa beside the window, through which they could enjoy the nature scenes back in the flourishing forest.
Sheena was embarrassed for being captured her true feelings, but Stephan didn't mean to blame on her, either.
"I know the outsiders would always think in this way. Never mind." Stephan grinned.
Sheena waved her hand to deny and apologize, "Sorry if any offence." Sheena continued with firm stare at Stephan. "If you don't want people to think that way, maybe you could clarify directly."
"Thanks for your advice." But Stephan seemed to decide to refuse such advice. "I believe someone would go through thistles and thorns to get me right."
Saying this, Stephan stared at Sheena firmly.
"Er..." Sheena felt awkward for not knowing how to react to his statement. What does he mean? Who is that girl he was pointing to? Doesn't he have many girlfriends? How come he is still expecting someone to get him right?
It's totally nonsense. Impossible. Denying this idea in mind, Sheena looked at Stephan with a clear head, "it wouldn't be hard for you to do so since you have so many girls around."
Stephan was stunned for a second and realized the mocking of Sheena, he burst into laughter, "oh, of course yes. You're so clever, it's easy indeed."
After saying that, Stephan stood up and said, "Grandpa called me to bring you to him, he has something to talk with you."
