Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A New Beginning

Jax Talon stood in front of the key of the galaxy. The Nexus Core, an artifact of legend, glowed with an otherworldly light in his grasp. At 32, after a lifetime spent delving into ancient myths and surviving harrowing expeditions, Jax had finally achieved what many had only dreamed of. Born into a normal family of explorers, he had inherited a deeply rooted instinct for adventure and an unquenchable thirst for the unknown. His charm, intellect, and relentless ambition had gained him allies all over the galaxy, driving him forward through countless dangers.

As he held the Nexus Core, he felt a surge of power emanating from it. "It's everything I imagined," he murmured, his fingers tracing the core's smooth, radiant surface. "All the power, all the knowledge of the ancients... it's finally mine."

His companions once trusted allies, stood behind him, their silence a stark contrast to the victory Jax felt. The years they had spent together, the dangers they had faced, seemed to crumble into nothing. At that moment, Jax suddenly realized that their loyalty had always been a fake. The moment he activated the Nexus Core, a searing pain erupted in his back. He spat blood as he crumpled to the ground, the betrayal cutting deeper than any physical wound. The final image burned into his vision was their cold, calculating faces, filled with mockery their treachery now fully revealed before darkness overwhelmed him.

I jolted awake, my eyes opening to a stark, white room, the brightness overwhelming at first. I blinked rapidly, trying to clear my vision, feeling disoriented. "Where... am I?" My voice came out hoarse, barely a whisper. My body felt heavy, as though something was weighing me down.

In front of me, hovering in the air, was a red orb, softly pulsing like a heartbeat. Its light flickered, growing brighter with each pulse, casting long shadows around the empty room. I stared at it, confused, but before I could make sense of it, the orb shot forward, straight toward my head.

I gasped, but it was too fast. The orb slammed into my forehead, a searing wave of heat coursing through me. My mind exploded with pain, every nerve in my body on fire. I crumpled to the floor, my limbs going numb, and my vision darkening.

Darkness closed in, pulling me under.

While I lay unconscious, something phenomenal happened.

Ding!

The system worked in silence, embedding knowledge and power deep within me. My body remained still, oblivious to the processes underway, as various systems were tested, installed, and calibrated.

With a final hum, the installation was completed, but I remained unaware, unconscious, suspended in the depths of the void.
