The mirror formed in the air behind him, refracting the flames into a thousand glowing shards.
For a moment, the wail softened, as though the skull was confused. But then, with a scream that made the Dreamwalker's knees buckle, the skull shattered the mirror, green fire scattering like embers in the air.
The Dreamwalker panicked as he darted into a nearby building, slamming the door shut behind him. He leaned against the door, panting heavily. The room was dark until a faint green glow seeped through the edges of the door and windows.
The wailing grew deafening, the flames leaking through cracks in the wood. The door burst inward, blown apart by hellfire, sending shards of wood flying across the room.
