With his back pinned to the wall, Damon frowned, seeing the raging fox fire threatening to engulf him.
"Very well then." Damon hissed as his eyes revealed a dark green flash.
HAK: Hell Fire!
Damon tossed his left hand forward, and his palm tore open, causing blood to squirt out. Beneath him, a dark green magic array formed as green flames erupted from his bleeding palms.
Hell Fire!
The vicious Valysara froze in shock as the entire room turned blazing green. She watched in horror as the green flames consumed her fox flames, raging towards her.
Meanwhile, Damon struggled, sweat running down his face as he struggled to control the hellfire. He could feel the dark green eye looming behind him, glaring at him.
"This body cannot effectively command the power of death yet!" Damon eyebrows narrowed.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Damon roared as the green flames surged uncontrollably across the room, corroding everything it came in contact with. Valysara's rage had vanished and was replaced with immense fear.
In the presence of death, everyone experiences fear!
"Don't you dare fuck with me. Shut it down!" Damon turned to the cold eye and roared in a threatening tone.
The eye seemed to squint, unwilling to stop, but it ultimately relented. Just before Damon's hell fire could consume Valysara, it froze and began surging back into his cut palm.
As soon as all the hell fire returned to his palm, his cut wound sealed up. The green flames returned to their normal color and the eerie atmosphere vanished.
Damon held his hand, panting with beads of sweat running down his face. The hand in which he used to unleash the hellfire was much paler than the other parts of his body.
"My Lord? Is that really you?"
Damon heard Valysara's sweet voice, the madness in her tone gone. He looked up and saw her approaching cautiously, seemingly unsure.
"Can you think of anyone else bold enough to use the raging flames of the underworld?" Damon asked with a raised eyebrow.
Valysara excitedly ran into his arms, embracing him tightly and sobbing silently. Slowly, her sobs got louder and soon she was crying loudly. Damon just embraced her tightly and let her cry, he could only imagine how much she had gone through in his absence.
Rejuvenation!
Damon breathing in mana, reenergizing himself and chasing away the fatigue from the last fight.
"From the depths of quiet night, I summon forth the muted light. No voice, no word, no echo near—let all fall into silence here."
Hush!
Damon cast a hush spell around the room to have some privacy with Valysara.
...
Once the hush spell was cast, Hector could no longer hear anything happening within the room. He looked slightly frustrated but also satisfied by what he witnessed.
The raging green flames, Hell fire!
"He is the real deal, but he is weak. He got the body of a weak host this time." Hector said thoughtfully.
"This is an opportunity for our Fox clan. This is an opportunity for us to rise to the very top." The old voice said passionately, leaving Hector confused.
"What do you mean?" Hector frowned.
"Don't be naive. We fox spirits are at the bottom of the supernatural fold chain. We are amongst the weakest supernatural beings in existence. But we have one gift that makes us stand out… the same gift that will give us control over this place will be the same gift that will give us the body of the Dark Lord." The old voice chuckled mischievously.
With the body of the Dark Lord in their possession, they can rewrite the history of fox spirits and turn a weak race into one of the strongest to ever exist.
"...." Hector frowned, seemingly hesitant.
The Dark Lord was basically the Messiah of all dark races on this planet. It was only natural he would be reluctant to completely turn against such a figure, but the old voice had a point.
This was an opportunity that would completely change the future of the Fox Spirit race, and they were the ones who would bring about that change.
This offer was even more alluring than becoming Damon's right-hand man. Why settle for less and become a mere right-hand man when he can become the ruler of a mighty race that will subdue the entire world?
...
After crying for over ten minutes, Valysara finally calmed down. She sniffed her nose cutely while holding onto Damon tightly, as if he would vanish if she let go.
Damon used this opportunity to ask certain questions regarding her situation. He needed to understand what exactly happened that led to all this mess and as expected her stories aligned with what Luna shared.
From a glorious nine-tailed fox queen to a prisoner in the very kingdom she built. Damon felt Valysara's pain and the feeling of betrayal that plagued her.
Thankfully, he had returned, and he planned to put everything in its rightful place. The only downside was that he came a bit too late and Damon knew it.
The purity and innocence that Valysara once carried had been tainted by these events. Hector had badly damaged his sister and he probably didn't care about it.
While Damon was not the sentimental type, he believed emotions were what made humans unique. While most emotions are irrelevant, they are valuable and powerful.
"It's okay… Now I have returned, you don't ever have to worry about anything again." Damon assured Valysara while stroking her hair gently.
