The quiet of the captain's private office was broken only by the irritating footsteps of Captain Arlen who was pacing around nervously. Across from him sat the Dreamwalker in his guise as the captain's son.
"Relax… All we need to do is kill the dark lord… He may be powerful but he is still limited by his body. Once we kill him, you will present him to the bloodwolf and accuse the church of colluding with the dark lord to overthrow the empire." The Dreamwalker shrugged as he spoke.
In his opinion, the dark lord's tricks were useless as long as they could kill him. Eventually, he would reveal himself and they would put an end to this silly game.
Then, like a silent thunderclap, a pulse of dark energy washed over them. The air in the room grew heavy, thick with malevolent intent.
Arlen froze mid-step, goosebumps spreading across his body as he trembled.
The Dreamwalker stiffened, his false composure cracking as his head snapped toward the window.
