Chapter 95 - The Race

With the countdown and firing of the start signal, the race began. Our team and the order were the same as last time, Hyemi, Rin, Nabin, and then me at the last. And just like in the previous race, Hyemi had a good start. She may not be the best runner at this level, but she was very good at one thing - going from zero to full sprint. She didn't disappoint and showed that at least when it comes to this one thing she does well, she could do more than just hold her own against the very best, so just like the last time again, she was actually leading the pack after the first 60m or so. But then inevitably other girls started to catch up and overtake her, with the first runner from South East High overtaking everyone at incredible speed and starting to pull away from the pack already around the 300m mark while Hyemi had fallen to 7th out of 9 girls.
