Chapter 84 - Fade to black

The ride back home after acquiring the 'puppy' was one of the most awkward moments ever. The front two seats were as they had always been with Uncle Tan driving and Hana sitting in the passenger seat but neither of them said a single word. Even when I brought Mary (which is what Heeya called her in any case) to the car Hana simply opened the door and did not ask who she was or what we were doing with her.

I climbed into the car first to sit behind the driver's seat and let Mary sit on the other side where I normally sit. If it was only an uncomfortable silence though it wouldn't have been that strange. What made the whole situation weird was actually me sobbing all the way through while looking out of the window to at least not show my crying face to anyone.
