Just a day after Uncle Tan's funeral, I was back at school. Danbi, Hana, and I walked to the school in silence without anyone saying a thing. I was sure that Danbi would have some questions she wanted to ask me about the whole thing with Bomi and what Hechan said, but she kept quiet about it for now. Perhaps just giving me some time to recover before probing into the matter. I really appreciated that.
I have missed school on many occasions since I became Jenn, every time due to something horrible. But when I came back, I was always warmly welcomed. This time around though, it almost felt like the whole classroom became quiet when I entered with Danbi.
Nobody greeted me, let alone approached me.
On my way, I was to pass by Jihee so I thought maybe she'd be one of the few left in my class that I could still talk to, but just as it looked like she was going to say something, Jiho got up and put himself between us.
