The funeral for Uncle Tan took place on a rainy Thursday afternoon. It was as modest as it could get. Uncle Tan didn't seem to have any family as none of them attended, and the small funeral was only attended by people from our Yoon mansion, plus Hana and Danbi.
Most of the maids were sobbing and crying quite badly. They've probably known Uncle Tan for many years. He's always been a kind man, not just to me, but to everyone around him unless they crossed his path in the wrong way. He was respectful but never uptight. He cracked jokes with the old and young workers of the mansion alike. Everyone either just called him Tan or Uncle Tan.
Considering Uncle Tan has been Hana's partner for God knows how long, I thought Hana would be the saddest person in this difficult time but she held it well. There was a sign of sadness on her face, and for her, that's probably the most she will ever show.
