A few days later.
Colin Small paced the floor anxiously. The birds outside had stopped singing, and the wind ceased. Something was wrong.
"Nature seems to know these things before I do," Colin said softly to himself.
"What else can I do to please these people unemployment is down, the economy is growing at 5%. Food prices are a little high, but so are salaries. St. Barts is filled with high end cars and sport utility vehicles, people are supposed to be living good, but yet these polls are favoring the opposition. What more can I do?"
"Maybe you need to walk the streets Colin and stop listening to those who like to feed you what you like to hear." A voic came from behind him.
Colin gasped.
"Lesley you frightened me. I thought I was the only one up this early in the morning."
Lesley flashed a half smile.
"My father used to say that politics is about knowing what the common man needs and fulfilling that need before he starts to grumble about it. Don't watch the polls Colin. Do what you use to do go out and sit with the people," Lesley said in an encouraging tone.
"But, I'm the President now Lesley. I have a million and one activities and engagements. I would have to plan it a couple of weeks in advance, security, the press, the right supporters and time it around an announcement of something big," Colin replied.
Lesley sighed.
"That is why you missed our anniversary. The other day. Everything must be planned and choregraphed. I remember a time when you and I sat beside each other and my kitty's twitching would grew more intense. Your words wove a spell, transporting me to enchanted realms."
"Tell me more," I'd whispered, with my voice husky.
"You would smile, and your eyes sparkling. In this land of dreams, love knows no bounds.
My heart would skip a beat and my panty grew damp."
"Go on," I'd urge.
"With every breath, passion ignites." You'd reply.
Your hand brushed mine, sending shivers down my spine.
"Where love resides, magic unfolds." I'd reply and our gazes met, and time stood still.
"Would you like to see this magic?" You asked, with your voice low.
I nodded, with my pulse racing.
Together, we stepped into the moonlit night, the kitty's twitching guiding us toward wonder.
His heart pounded in his chest, was the damsel really going to show him her magic. He was nervous... but his one tracked mind... was only thinking of the magic she held between her thighs.
He was speechless, only releasing grunts.. his hands touched her and marveled at how soft she was.. his caress felt like love to her and she closed her hazel eyes.. allowing him to explore where ever he wanted
As they kissed, the world around them melted away. The trees' whispers grew softer, the flowers' scent sweeter, and the moon's light gentler.
He felt himself getting lost in the moment, his heart racing with anticipation. The damsel's magic was indeed powerful, and he couldn't help but wonder what secrets she held.
The kitty, sensing his tension, nudged his hand with its head. He stroked its soft fur, finding a sense of calm in the simple gesture.
The damsel's lips parted, and she whispered, "Come, let me show you the true magic of this place."
She took his hand, leading him deeper into the enchanted woods. The trees grew taller, their branches intertwining above them like a canopy. The air thickened with an You always said our escapades felt otherworldly energy, and you felt your senses heighten. Every sound, every scent, every touch became more intense. We would reached a clearing, and in the center, a magnificent tree towered above the rest. Its trunk shimmered with an ethereal glow. "The Heartwood Tree," Lesley whispered, her eyes sparkling. "Do you remember Colin?" Lelsey asked softly.
"That was where, magic is woven into the very fabric of existence. It was our place to escape the craziness of life. My heart would be pounding in my chest, my mind racing with wonder. That was our place Colin, I always wondered what secrets the tree would reveal?" Lesley said while touching Colin's chest. "The people of St Barts fell in love with the man that saw St Barts as his enchanted place, but you and I shared something very special too. That is the connection we had before you became the President." Lesly's tone became dry like the wind that blew through the window.
'People have feelings and emotions Colin, but you see them as numbers. Neglect us and we fall for others."
Colin's brow knitted.
"That sounds like a threat Lesley." Colin asked looking Lesley from head to toe.
"Is that a new teddy?" Colin asked.
'I bet you didn't even miss me sleeping in the guest room last night Colin?" Lesley asked deliberately not answering Colin's earlier question.
"Your problem Lesley is that you are a hopeless romantic who loves to escape reality, but real life is about numbers."
"Tsk, tsk," Lesley replied.
She felt mischievous and the teddy fell to the floor slowly. Lesley placed her slipper less foot on the chair. She touched her love sponge seductively.
"Colin when was the last time you looked at this or even tried to touch me intimately? I am your wife, and I have feelings and emotions too."
Her fingers spread the petals of her flower and revealed the tender pink. Colin's breath became jagged, but he heard Rex's voice.
Panic gripped him and it seemed as if Lesley didn't care, A hot flash bathed Colin's spine and his tummy rumbled.
"My point exactly Lesley said, you care more about what Rex would think than locking the door and taking me right here and now on this table. Imagine being spontaneous Colin?" Lesley asked while slowly retrieving the teddy and walking bottomless towards the next room, just as Rex burst into the room.
A sense of relief invaded Colin. His heart was pounding in his chest.
Maybe Lesley was right. Colin thought
"Rex , to what do I owe the pleasure of you in my personal residence this early in the morning?" Colin asked.
However, before Rex could reply
Colin attacked.
"Rex the election will not be won in the board room. The guy giving the campaign contribution is also contributing to the other side and is simply making an astute business decision and hedging his bet. We must win the election seat by seat. To test my theory, we are going to visit the barber shops, the hairdressers and take rides in the taxis. We must energise the grassroots. The ones ion the hillside may fund us Rex , but they are not dipping their fingers in the ink."
"You are going out on a tour, Mr President?" Rex asked stunned. "I have to arrange an entourage, the press and security etc," " Rex babbled.
"No Rex, none of that crap."
"I was thinking about a disguise like in the movies or those shows where the boss goes in like a new employee to get the tea on the business."
Colin's eyes twinkled like in the old days.
Meanwhile Lesley leaned against the bathroom door listening to the excitement in her husband's voice. She felt aroused mentally and her kitty twitched.
Colin did not give Rex a chance to change his mind.
"Rex anyone of us that has gotten rich while in government with a bang belly and is no longer hungry for the win or the work. He or she may be thinking I have enough for my kids to survive. Especially if they have seen these polls. Rex, I want my party to be hungry for a win, but we can't think that the masses will vote based on principles or how well we think the economy is doing. Do you think when the chancellor of finance speaks that the common man understands what he is saying?"
"I have a master's in finance, and I don't even understand his mumbo jumbo sometimes," Colin replied then he chuckled at his own joke, while he watched Rex just stared into nothing.
Colin sighed.
"Find Flynn and we are going out today and we have to make people believe that our supporters are hungrier for us to win than the opposition," Colin's tone changed with excitement, like a child in a candy store.
Rex growled under his breath. Anger boiled in his veins, someone had been manipulating the President to make him think freely and only one person came to mind Lesley Small, but the image of her naked in the bathtub came to the forefront of his thoughts. Lesley was a master manipulator.
Somehow, she had found my weakness. Rex thought.
