On the second day, the ban was completely lifted in Viridian City, and life continued as usual, but there were a lot more patrols on the streets. In addition to maintaining order, these patrols also prevented Team Rocket from counterattacking.
The Alliance seemed to have cleared Team Rocket out of Viridian City, but no one could be sure whether any Rocket members remained. Therefore, the increased patrols were crucial.
The Viridian Gym was also temporarily closed, and the expected closure time was one week. This left many trainers unable to obtain their eighth Badge, and they stayed in Viridian City, unsure of what to do.
However, the Alliance responded quickly to this incident, announcing that the Viridian Gym would reopen in a week, with Agatha, one of the Elite Four, temporarily serving as the Gym Leader.
The news relieved the trainers and excited them, as they had the opportunity to battle against Agatha, a member of the Elite Four.
In this way, the panic caused by Team Rocket subsided, and the Alliance managed the situation well.
"I wonder if there will be Spearow coming out to attack us this time?" Misty, who was holding Togepi, joked with a smile on her face as they journeyed back to Pallet Town.
Things were different now. Both she and Ash were much stronger than before. Even facing a group of Spearow, Misty was confident in her ability to handle them.
"Pika! Pika-Pikachu!" Pikachu hadn't forgotten the embarrassment of their previous encounter with the Spearow, and it was eager for another chance to show its strength and get revenge.
Brock also knew about the incident, mainly because Ash had mentioned it when he showed him the rainbow feather, but the details were unclear, so he asked Misty.
Misty vividly recounted the situation, combined with the surrounding terrain, and the effect was surprisingly good. Not only did Brock feel immersed in the story, but even Togepi in Misty's arms was captivated.
"There is a river not far from here. Along the river, you can reach the lake where you met Ash," Misty said, pointing to a fork in the road. She still remembered the route, as she had been there for fishing.
"Why don't we camp there today? Although it's not very far from Pallet Town, by the time we reach there, it will probably be late at night," Ash suggested.
Originally, they had planned to go back to Pallet Town without stopping, because Pallet Town and Viridian City were not too far apart. Even if they walked for a day, they could return to Pallet Town around eight or nine o'clock in the evening.
But considering that it was too tiring, Ash had a whim and decided to take a half-day rest and continue on their way tomorrow, allowing them to return to Pallet Town tomorrow afternoon.
"Alright!" Misty's eyes lit up, and of course she had no objection, because she also wanted to go back to the place where she met Ash, and by the way, be able to complete the things she hadn't done before, such as fishing in that lake.
Ash and Misty looked at Brock at the same time. Brock twitched his lips but could only nod in agreement.
Although he was eager to visit Professor Oak's Laboratory, Ash and Misty had already made up their minds, and he could only follow their wishes.
The three of them left the main road, followed the path, and found a river. Along the river, they saw the waterfall falling from a high place, and the original lake was beneath the waterfall.
"The scenery here is really nice!" Looking at the rainbow formed by the splashing water under the waterfall, Brock couldn't help but feel relaxed and free.
"It's great, this place!" Misty said with some pride, this was her carefully selected fishing spot.
"I didn't really look at this place at the time, but now I revisit it, it's really beautiful and very quiet." Ash also smiled, standing in this place made people unconsciously relax.
"Everyone, come out!" Ash took out his Poké Balls and released all his Pokémon, letting them play here. Misty and Brock did the same, releasing all of their Pokémon.
Horsea was the happiest of all the Pokémon. After falling into the lake, it swam happily in the water, diving into the lake from time to time, and then jumping out of the water.
Psyduck stayed by the lake in a daze, cautiously touching the lake water with its feet, but the next moment it retracted its feet with a strange cry, the surface of the lake trembling slightly.
Togepi was also running and playing by the lake, happily letting out lively Growls. Pikachu and Staryu followed behind like nannies to prevent Togepi from having any accidents.
Charizard seemed a little laid back, lying directly under the shade of the tree and enjoying the faint sunlight shining through the dense leaves.
Venusaur didn't need to hide under the shade at all; it faced the hot sun directly and basked comfortably.
Blastoise, on the other hand, entered the lake, retracted into its shell, and floated. After drifting far, it would use its tail to adjust the direction and bring itself back to the shore.
Haunter was the most mischievous of all Ash's Pokémon. It looked left and right, then went into the forest, disappearing from sight.
Brock's Pokémon were also quite leisurely. Zubat was hidden, resting on a branch; Geodude closed its eyes, as if meditating; Onix's body was curled up into a ball, looking like a rock from a distance.
Vulpix liked the warmth radiating from Charizard. It was hot but mild, just like the sun, so Vulpix couldn't help but lean against Charizard to take a nap.
Ash, Misty, and Brock were preparing their camping gear, setting up the tent, and starting to prepare lunch.
Since they were right by the lake, Misty volunteered to catch fish for lunch, so she went to the lake with a fishing rod.
After Ash helped prepare the ingredients, seeing that Brock didn't need his help, he went to the side, lay on the lawn, and enjoyed the feeling of the breeze and the sun on his face.
Gradually, Ash started to feel a little sleepy. Listening to the happy Growls of the playing Pokémon, Ash's eyelids became heavier and heavier, and he was about to fall asleep.
"Ash! Ash! Hurry up and help me, I caught a big fish!" Misty's exclamation startled Ash awake. He stood up and saw that Misty's fishing rod was bent like a C, being pulled towards the lake by a tremendous force.
"I'm coming!" Ash was startled and immediately ran to Misty's side. Even Brock stopped what he was doing and looked over.
The Pokémon also came over, curious about the big fish Misty was about to catch.
"Something's wrong..." Ash hugged Misty, reached around her from both sides, and held the fishing rod with her. He felt a tremendous pulling force, and his face tensed slightly. This force was incredible.
An ordinary large fish might have this kind of power, but that would be in the sea. This was a lake; how could there be such a large fish in it?
"It's a Pokémon!" Ash exclaimed.
