Misty couldn't wait to enjoy the hot spring. She changed into her swimsuit in the bathroom, then emerged and soaked in the hot spring in the yard, even bringing the Pokémon egg with her.
"It's so comfortable..." Leaning against the stones at the edge of the hot spring, Misty closed her eyes slightly as the refreshing breeze blended with the warmth of the water, making her feel drowsy.
"Pika-Pika!" With Ash's help, the smaller Pokémon splashed through the water and joined her in the hot spring one after another, Pikachu leading the way.
Venusaur, Charizard, and Pidgeot felt a bit left out; their size made it difficult to join. Charizard, being a Fire-type Pokémon, disliked water, even hot springs.
Psyduck soaked in the hot spring, seemingly lost in thought, beside Staryu who was keeping an eye on it. Horsea happily swam around, while Starmie massaged Misty's shoulders with its points.
"Pikachu, Pikachu!" Pikachu relaxed, floating on the hot spring and even humming a little tune in contentment.
"Brock, do you need any help?" Though Ash wanted to relax in the hot spring, he saw Brock preparing dinner for the Pokémon and offered his assistance.
"Please help me wash these berries." Brock accepted Ash's offer.
"Vulpix, please use a gentle Ember." After stacking wood in the fire pit, Brock instructed Vulpix.
"Vul!" Vulpix released a small flame from its mouth, igniting the dry wood instantly.
While Ash was washing the berries, a waiter arrived.
"Come in!" Ash, busy with the berries, called out to the waiter.
"Hello, what kind of cuisine would you like for dinner?" The waiter stood at the door, addressing Ash, who had returned to the room after washing the berries.
"What options do you have?" Ash asked curiously.
"We offer Kanto, Unova, and even Alola styles." The waiter smiled.
"Even Alola Region style?!" Ash was surprised, as the Alola Region was a remote island region that had only recently gained attention.
With the Alola Region's rise in popularity came the Z-moves, but only Trainers from Alola could obtain Z-Rings and Z-Crystals.
"Brock, what should we choose?" Ash, unsure, asked Brock loudly, explaining the situation.
"While I'm curious about Alolan cuisine, a barbecue seems more fitting for this environment." After some thought, Brock made a decision.
"Then please bring us some raw meat, vegetables, and fruit juice." Ash relayed the order to the waiter.
The waiter nodded and left, and Ash returned to the courtyard to help Brock prepare the Pokémon's dinner.
"Barbecue! I haven't had it in a while, especially cooked by Brock!" Misty looked forward to the hot springs and barbecue.
Suddenly, the Pokémon egg in Misty's arms shook, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"It's moving again!" Misty's eyes lit up. The more active the egg, the closer it was to hatching.
Misty's voice caught Brock and Ash's attention. They looked over but didn't approach.
To Misty's surprise, the egg shook even more violently, slipping from her grasp. This sudden change prompted Brock and Ash to rush over.
"What's happening?!" Misty, worried, tried to catch the egg, but its slippery surface and intense shaking made it impossible.
"Is it... hatching?!" Though Brock had never witnessed a Pokémon hatching, he understood the situation. Despite the unexpected display, it seemed the egg was about to hatch.
As Brock spoke, the egg emitted a soft, colorful light, obscuring it from view. Amidst the light, cracking sounds indicated the egg was breaking.
Ash, Misty, and Brock watched intently, as did the Pokémon, all awaiting the birth of this new life.
After a few seconds, the light faded, revealing the egg's transformation. The upper half had cracked, revealing the Pokémon inside.
"Toge...?" The Pokémon opened its black eyes, and the five thorn-like structures on its head, initially huddled together, unfolded like a crown.
Tiny hands emerged from the eggshell, and though hidden by the hot spring water, it also had short legs.
"So cute!" Misty hugged the Pokémon, delighted. "Is this Togepi?"
"Toge... pi, Toge!" The Pokémon blinked, recognizing Misty, and let out a happy sound, seeing her as its mother.
"It really is Togepi! And it hatched right before our eyes!" Brock looked at Togepi excitedly, eager for a closer look but afraid of startling it.
"Pika!" Pikachu swam to Misty's side, climbed onto her back, then perched on her head, curiously staring at Togepi.
"Togepi!" Togepi also noticed Pikachu but wasn't afraid at all. It even offered a happy smile, its tiny limbs flailing as if it were jumping for joy.
At that moment, Ash saw Togepi's information displayed by the system.
