Chapter 146 - Chapter 146 Lavender Town

The next day, Ash was woken up by Misty and Brock. The two of them seemed very flustered. They obviously didn't know how they fell asleep or what happened afterward.

"Don't worry, it's all right now; Gastly truly wanted to help us spread the legend of Maiden's Peak." Ash yawned in a daze and explained.

"Really?" Brock looked at Ash in surprise.

"Hmm..." Ash briefly explained what happened last night and took out the Mega Evolution Stone, which completely relieved Misty and Brock.

"I have to say that Gastly's Hypnosis is really powerful, and I feel much better after waking up today." After learning that nothing happened, Misty felt that the quality of her sleep yesterday was better than before.

Brock felt the same way, not to mention Pikachu, who woke up because of their voices.

After a brief freshening up, everyone went to the restaurant to eat. Although they missed the festival last night, their gains were not small.

"Mega Evolution Stone... I never thought Ash could get these things. It would be great if I could get them in the future," Misty said enviously as she ate her breakfast.

"There will be," Ash said affirmatively because he vaguely remembered that in the Sun & Moon anime, Brock and Misty both had the Key Stone and Mega Stones, which could allow their Steelix and Gyarados to Mega Evolve.

After breakfast, everyone rested for a while and then headed towards Lavender Town. Maiden's Peak wasn't far from Lavender Town. Even walking slowly, they could reach Lavender Town in two days. By car, it would only take half a day.

Lavender Town, a small town located in the northeast of the Kanto Region, wasn't well-known until the Alliance established a vast Pokémon cemetery there, and it became a place where many Trainers visited.

There was a seven-story Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town, where many Pokémon were buried. Naturally, it cost a lot of money to secure a Pokémon cemetery there.

The reason for building the Pokémon Tower wasn't simply to provide a burial place for Trainers' Pokémon but for another reason.

After a Pokémon dies, its body gradually disappears, turning into pure natural energy and returning to the world. However, a part of it forms Ghost-type energy, and Ghost-type Pokémon are born this way.

The number of Pokémon buried in the Pokémon Tower was vast, and with the constant turnover, the Ghost-type energy there was abundant, resulting in the birth of many Ghost-type Pokémon within the Pokémon Tower.

According to Professor Aurea Juniper's theory of origin, due to the geography of the Kanto Region, most Ghost-type Pokémon born there were from the Gengar family.

It was precisely because of Professor Aurea Juniper's origin theory that the Alliance built this Pokémon Tower ten years ago, and other regions gradually began constructing similar buildings to encourage the emergence of more Ghost-type Pokémon.

Professor Aurea Juniper, who proposed the theory of origin, was only twenty-eight years old at the time. She was undoubtedly a genius.

After two days of travel, Ash and his group finally arrived in Lavender Town. It wasn't too big, nor could it be called very prosperous, but it had the feeling of a small, rural town.

However, Ash knew that technology in the Kanto Region wasn't yet developed. Even with the presence of a giant like Silph Co., large-scale technological changes would only occur in a few years.

The most conspicuous building in Lavender Town was naturally the Pokémon Tower. Although it had only seven floors, its height reached about 100 meters. The first floor alone was clearly over ten meters tall, making it the landmark building of Lavender Town.

The Pokémon Center was located not far from the Pokémon Tower, intended to facilitate Trainers entering the Pokémon Tower for recovery or training.

Although training in the Pokémon Tower seemed a little inappropriate, because of the many Ghost-type Pokémon within, known for their mischievous nature, Trainers were allowed inside. Non-Trainers could also enter to pay respects to their Pokémon.

"Let's rest here for a day. We'll go to Saffron City tomorrow morning," Brock suggested as he checked in at the Pokémon Center.

"I want to try and see if I can catch a Gastly or a Haunter..." Ash planned to visit the Pokémon Tower. After obtaining Gengar's Mega Evolution Stone, he was considering capturing and training a Gastly or Haunter.

The strength of Mega Gengar was undeniable, and it could become a significant asset in the future.

"Then I won't go with you this afternoon!" Although Misty wasn't afraid of Ghost-type Pokémon, she preferred to keep a distance from places like the Pokémon Tower.

"I'd like to see the Pokémon Tower, I'll go with you!" Brock was quite interested in Ghost-type Pokémon. To become a top Breeder, he needed to learn about various Pokémon.

After checking into their rooms, Misty stayed at the Pokémon Center while Ash and Brock set off for the Pokémon Tower, less than a kilometer away.

There were quite a few Trainers outside the Pokémon Tower, as well as some ordinary people coming and going. The Pokémon Tower, despite being a Pokémon cemetery, didn't feel too gloomy or unpopular.

Upon entering the first floor, they encountered Alliance officers and staff. After Ash and Brock showed their Trainer IDs, they were allowed to proceed to the second floor without any further formalities.

Before going up to the second floor, the staff explained the situation within the Pokémon Tower.

Under normal circumstances, Ghost-type Pokémon wouldn't appear in front of people, but if strange things happened around them, it was most likely a Ghost-type Pokémon playing pranks. There was no need to worry, as there was no danger.

After learning some precautions, Ash and Brock ascended to the second floor. There were many people there, and Ash noticed some Trainers battling Gastly.

Other Trainers were cheering, holding Poké Balls, having successfully captured a Gastly or a Haunter.

It was impossible for Gengar to appear on the lower floors. As Gengar was relatively strong, the Alliance personnel would guide them to higher levels. Most Gengar were concentrated on the sixth floor.

Ash considered capturing a Gengar directly for training, but with his current strength, he might not be able to subdue a mischievous Pokémon like Gengar. Therefore, he decided to catch a Gastly or Haunter and train it patiently to strengthen their bond.
