Chapter 22 - Curse Of Binding!(2)

"Who's going to stop me?

The Arcane Clan wouldn't dare make an enemy of our organization over a single member," Hrwateek said, a dry smile twisting at the corner of his mouth.

Zuxe's grip tightened on his sword, but his eyes narrowed with a smirk. "Are you certain... that I'm just a member of the Arcane Clan?"

The words hung heavy in the air. Slowly, he relaxed his hold on the sword, lowering it with deliberate calm.

Hrwateek, sensing the shift, slid his katana back into its sheath but kept his gaze locked on Zuxe, every muscle ready to react. He dropped into the chair, crossing his arms in a calm yet guarded stance.

"I'm one of the heirs of the Arcane Clan," Zuxe said, his voice steady, though a quiet menace laced each word.

He grabbed a water bottle from the desk, unscrewing the cap and pouring the cool water over his head.

As droplets ran down his face, they revealed the true color of his hair—a deep, unmistakable shade that only true Arcane blood possessed. He had planned to keep this hidden, but now, cornered by the moment, there was no choice.

Hrwateek's eyes flickered as the realization hit him. So that's why... the unique soul essence technique in someone so young...

The room grew tense, an uneasy silence settling between them. Hrwateek's eyes sharpened, his expression unreadable. Finally, he spoke, each word edged with suspicion.

"How do you know about that?" he asked.

Zuxe raised a brow, an amused glint in his eyes as he leaned forward, propping his chin on one hand. "Is that really what matters here? What's important is that I know how to use it."

Hrwateek's jaw clenched, surprise flickering across his face. He looked away briefly, trying to compose himself before responding, a mix of disbelief and irritation clouding his gaze.

"So tell me, does the clan know... or is this just you?"

A faint smirk crossed Zuxe's lips. He leaned in, lowering his voice to a whisper. "I'm the only one who knows about it"

Hrwateek's back stiffened, his shoulders tense as he struggled to find the right words. A bead of sweat trickled down his temple. "And what's in it for me?"

Zuxe's eyes glinted with mischief. "Don't you want the chance to study it—to understand it in full?"

Hrwateek snorted, tapping his fingers on the desk as he eyed Zuxe with renewed caution. "You know too much, boy. How do I know this isn't some ruse? A trap laid by the clan?"

Zuxe shrugged, leaning back casually. "The fact that I even know about it should be proof enough, don't you think?"

Hrwateek sighed, frustration etched on his face as he finally muttered, "Maybe... but it doesn't explain how you know so much about us."

A grin broke across Zuxe's face. "Some things are best left secret. Just like yours."

Hrwateek's gaze drifted to the window, his posture tense. "You're certain you can use it? You know what they'll do if you fail..."

Zuxe's expression turned serious. "Yes. I'm sure."

A long pause followed, and then Hrwateek nodded, heading toward the door. "Alright, then... Follow me."

Here's a detailed description of the journey to a secret underground research facility, focusing on the atmosphere, security layers, and building anticipation:

---

Hrwateek led Zuxe down a series of winding corridors, each one darker and narrower than the last.

Although he didn't knew how he reached there because Hrwateek also used a teleportation technique to directly send them at another strange place.

The two exchanged no words, their footsteps echoing through the still air.

Zuxe felt an electric tension in each step, like walking toward a place he was never meant to see.

They stopped at an unmarked steel door, its surface worn yet formidable.

Hrwateek placed his hand against a small panel embedded beside it, and a green light scanned his palm.

A soft beep sounded, followed by the heavy clank of metal gears turning. The door slid open, revealing a steep stairway descending into shadow.

"Keep close," Hrwateek murmured, his voice low.

Zuxe followed him down the staircase, each step taking them deeper beneath the building.

Dim lights illuminated the stairwell, casting long shadows that seemed to stretch toward them as they descended.

They reached another checkpoint: a tall metal gate bristling with sensors. Hrwateek stepped forward, submitting to a retinal and Soul essence signature scan that triggered another series of locks to disengage.

The gate shuddered open, and Zuxe could hear the faint hum of hidden machinery, like a watchful eye was on them.

They passed through narrow corridors lined with thick, reinforced doors, each labeled with cryptic numbers and symbols. At the end of one hallway, Hrwateek approached what looked like a solid wall.

He touched a specific stone, and with a soft click, a section of the wall slid aside, revealing an elevator concealed within. Zuxe stepped in after him, the doors closing with a hiss.

"Down," Hrwateek commanded, his voice barely above a whisper.

The elevator surged downward, its hum a low vibration in Zuxe's bones.

The descent felt endless, as though they were leaving the surface world entirely. Finally, the doors opened onto a cavernous underground space, bathed in an eerie blue glow.

They stepped out into a long tunnel, the walls lined with what appeared to be surveillance screens, each showing a different angle of the facility.

Automated turrets followed their movements with a soft whirring sound, their barrels poised to eliminate any intruder. A final metal door loomed ahead, its surface engraved with intricate symbols of the organization.

Hrwateek pressed his hand to the engraved seal, and a sharp blue light scanned his fingerprint, then pulsed in recognition.

The door slid open, revealing a sprawling research facility.

Tables covered with alchemical equipment lined one wall, while banks of computers hummed softly on the other, each screen filled with data too advanced for ordinary eyes to comprehend.

Technicians in lab coats moved about, pausing briefly to acknowledge Hrwateek before quickly returning to their work.

"Welcome," Hrwateek said, glancing at Zuxe. "This is where our organization most guarded secrets are kept ."

Zuxe's eyes widened as he took it all in. He felt the weight of countless eyes on him, a reminder that he was now in a place few ever ventured into and even fewer returned from.
