Chapter 72 - Fight III

"Go take a seat, Akainu," Dave sneered, his eyes glinting with cold amusement. He had already taken down five CP0 members and a high-ranking Vice Admiral, and he wasn't about to let Akainu disrupt his momentum now.

Dave turned his attention back to the battlefield, surveying the few remaining CP0 agents who still posed a threat. He noticed Tony in his Hulk-like Turbo form or Strength Mode, wreaking havoc on the remaining admirals, his sheer power overwhelming them. "It seems his power is nearing Admiral level," Dave observed, nodding in approval as he watched Tony's massive form clash with a few of the remaining enemies.

High in the sky, two large blasts of energy—one blue, the other yellow—were streaking across the air as the two energies collided with explosive force. It was a fierce battle between Enel and Kizaru, each trying to outmaneuver the other in a high-speed aerial duel. Their attacks lit up the sky like a dazzling storm, sending shockwaves through the battlefield below.

Dave scanned the area for any remaining threats. His eyes briefly lingered on the Celestial Dragons, who were being guarded by six CP0 agents. These were not ordinary agents—these were the most elite of CP0, individuals with near-Admiral combat abilities. It wasn't lost on Dave that if they were still standing, they were a force to be reckoned with.

He could feel the tension in the air as the remaining Marines and CP0 shifted their focus. Dave couldn't help but wonder just how far they were willing to go to protect the Celestial Dragons. His gaze flickered to the Celestial Dragons themselves.

Watching the electrifying and blinding display, Dave turned his attention to the group of six CP0 agents guarding the remaining Celestial Dragons, who huddled together in fear. He could sense an intense aura emanating from these CP0 members, one almost on par with that of Admirals.

"Could these be the rumored 'God Knights'?" Dave wondered. His gaze sharpened, knowing they were bound to be more formidable than the other CP0 agents. Given the aura they were emitting, he suspected each one might wield powerful Paramecia abilities or even rare Mythical or Ancient Zoan Devil Fruits. They wouldn't be easy targets; these agents were likely top-level combatants handpicked to defend the so-called 'gods' of the world.

"Interesting," Dave murmured, his grip tightening on Cerberus. He moved toward them, ready to test the strength of these so-called divine protectors and find out if their powers were as grand as their titles. If they truly bore powerful Devil Fruits, this was going to be a battle worth every bit of effort.

Dave stepped forward, each step deliberate, the tension in the air thick enough to choke. His gaze swept over the six CP0 agents, their formidable auras burning fiercely as they prepared to defend the Celestial Dragons at any cost. They weren't mere foot soldiers; these were elite warriors, hardened by countless battles, and their eyes gleamed with a deadly seriousness that spoke of their readiness for the brutal fight ahead.

The tallest among them—a massive, towering figure whose bulging muscles looked nearly impenetrable—shifted suddenly. His body grew, shimmering as it took on an almost mythological shape, transforming into a dragon-like creature. His scales darkened to a gunmetal hue, catching the light with a menacing glint that made him appear both majestic and monstrous. Each exhale sent a plume of smoke curling into the air, the scent of burning embers filling the space around him.

Beside him, another agent, lean and agile, dropped low as his form morphed into that of a saber-toothed beast. Massive claws erupted from his hands, glistening with a deadly sharpness, his fangs extending in a predatory snarl. He prowled, his eyes locked on Dave, assessing him like prey. Each of the remaining CP0 agents displayed unique transformations and abilities—one seemed to meld into shadows, an ominous Paramecia user who spread a dark mist around him; another's skin took on the hue of polished steel, suggesting a frighteningly high defense.

Dave's grin widened, his expression exuding a dark amusement. "Ah," he said, his voice low and mocking, "looks like they're finally taking this seriously."

Dave especially eyed the Dragon one, as who doesn't want a cool transformation type ability.

As he lifted Cerberus, Dave allowed his Conqueror's Haki to surge outward, flowing into the blade until it thrummed with raw power. The ground beneath him buckled and cracked, a pulse radiating out in all directions like ripples on the surface of a lake. His Haki swept over the battlefield, dark and oppressive, crashing into the CP0 agents with a force that sent shivers down their spines. Even the Celestial Dragons, typically cloaked in their own delusions of invincibility, visibly flinched, their faces paling as they were struck by the sheer, crushing weight of his will.

The dragon-formed agent snarled, attempting to stand firm, his claws digging into the ground for stability. The saber-toothed beast prowled around Dave, his stance wary as he felt the relentless pressure bearing down on him. The shadowy agent faltered for a moment, the mist around him flickering as if his confidence had waned in the face of Dave's overpowering presence. Even the one clad in steel felt his reinforced defenses tremble slightly, as though they too recognized the deadly intent behind Dave's eyes.

This wasn't a mere show of strength; it was a statement. The air around Dave shimmered with energy, a vortex of barely-contained fury, and his eyes gleamed with a dark promise. He took another step forward, his presence almost physical, like a weight pressing down on each of his opponents. The Celestial Dragons, usually untouchable and insulated from the horrors of the world, shrank back even further, their grandiose arrogance replaced by a dawning fear. They were witnessing the fury of someone who saw through their facade, someone who wasn't afraid to make them tremble.

The dragon agent roared, finally breaking the silence, and lunged at Dave, claws slashing through the air. But Dave sidestepped smoothly, his eyes locked on the agent's every move. With a flick of his wrist, he swung Cerberus in a blinding arc. The blade struck with devastating force, cleaving through scales and muscle as though they were nothing, sending the massive creature hurtling backward with a deep, ugly gash across his chest.

The shadowy agent moved next, enveloping the battlefield in a dark mist that sapped at Dave's energy, swirling ominously around him in an attempt to drain his strength. But Dave's Haki flared out again, a pulse of concentrated will that shattered the mist, scattering it like smoke in the wind. The agent stumbled, momentarily disoriented, and Dave seized the opportunity, delivering a swift blow that sent him reeling.
