As the drop of blood was poured onto the paper, the contract split into two chains that went inside Captain America and Hawkeye, wrapping around their hearts. It was visible for a moment, then disappeared, showing how it magically connected to them.
"What was that?" Hawkeye asked, a bit shocked, as he touched his chest. The chains were gone now, but he could still feel something.
"Just the contract making sure you're bound to it," Dave explained. "It's to ensure you don't go against the agreement."
Captain America raised an eyebrow. "It won't kill us, will it?" he asked, glancing at Hawkeye, who seemed concerned too.
Dave shook his head. "No, it won't. Just stop and let it settle for a moment," he instructed. They both nodded, taking a moment to adjust.
"Here, take these," Dave said, pulling out two Devil Fruits. In the One Piece world, he had created many Devil Fruits.
The first fruit was a red-skinned skull with lava dripping from it, and the second one looked like a melon with a strange pattern on it.
"One is called Inferno Titan Power," Dave said, pointing to the skull fruit. "The other is Lightning Beast Raiju," he added, pointing at the melon fruit. Captain America and Hawkeye exchanged looks.
"Can you explain what these weird fruits could do?" Captain America asked, curious. Tony, who was nearby, spoke up.
"It's simple—eat it, and boom, you have the power," Tony said.
Maria Hill, who had been observing, turned to Tony. "You speak as if you've experienced it?" she asked, surprised.
"I have—or at least, I've seen it. Rhodes got his power like this," Tony said, gesturing to Rhodes, who nodded.
"It's true," Rhodes confirmed, looking at the two Devil Fruits.
"And one person can only eat one Devil Fruit in their lifetime," he added.
Hawkeye raised an eyebrow. "So, after I eat this, no more retries?" he asked.
Dave nodded. "Yes, it's a one-time thing. Make your choice wisely."
Captain America grabbed the Inferno Titan fruit. "From the name, I guess I'll have flame-controlling powers?" he asked, looking at Dave.
"That, and the ability to transform into a lava titan," Dave answered.
Thor, who had been quiet, spoke up. "That sounds mystical. I've never heard of such fruits," he said, looking at the fruits.
Dave shrugged. "They're from another world after all," he said. Thor nodded, thinking they might come from somewhere else.
Meanwhile, the Shield and Hydra agents silently wondered if these fruits were from Hell or some demon-level source, perhaps even from Trish. However, no one spoke up, keeping their suspicions to themselves.
"And this Lightning Beast Raiju means I will have lightning powers?" Hawkeye asked, looking at the fruit in his hand.
Dave nodded. "Yes, and you'll also have the ability to transform into a Raiju. They are mythical creatures that used to control lightning to rule over lands when they were alive."
"Also, don't worry," Dave continued, "you can use the powers without fully transforming into the animal. You can even partially transform, like werewolves, walking around in human form but with the animal's abilities."
Hawkeye nodded, biting into the fruit, but his face scrunched up a bit at the taste. "Okay," he said, still grimacing.
"Don't throw up," Dave warned. "Or you won't gain the powers."
Rhodes, watching Hawkeye closely, asked, "oh! how can I forgot about of the bad taste?"
" It was the most revolting thing ever touched my tongue" he said as others looked at Hawkeye.
"You get used to it," Dave said. "But yeah, don't throw up, or you won't gain the powers."
Captain America ate his fruit without showing any reaction. He simply nodded once he'd finished, making it look easy.
"Well, looks like everyone's set," Dave said as they finished eating the fruit.
"The powers will start off basic and grow more powerful as you guys train with them," Dave explained. Captain America looked at the flames coming from his hands, which were bright red and flickering.
"This is...," he started, eyes wide, as he marveled at the power, glancing at Dave for confirmation.
"Yes, it's real," Dave said, nodding at Captain.
On the other side, Hawkeye was watching the purple lightning crackling around his hands. "It looks powerful," he remarked, impressed with the new abilities.
Dave nodded again. "You guys can go ahead and test it out."
Captain America and Hawkeye exchanged a glance before heading off to a more open area. Just then, Thor stepped forward, eager to join the practice. "Let me come too, I want to see if your lightning can match mine," he said.
Hawkeye nodded, and they headed off together, ready to test their new abilities.
"Do you have more of these fruits?" Maria Hill asked, her curiosity piqued as Dave nodded.
"I have more," he said simply.
"Sell us some," she suggested.
Dave looked at her, his expression firm. "Not for sale."
Maria's tone became more urgent. "You should sell us some, it's for the protection of Earth."
Before she could say anything more, suddenly an agent appeared behind her. Dave glanced at him and smiled. "Not for sale," he said, each word slow and deliberate.
The agent pointed his gun at Dave, ready for confrontation.
"I think that guy's been instructed wrongly," Tony commented, amused by the situation as he stepped forward. "Stand down," Maria Hill commanded.
The agent hesitated, lowering his weapon, and after a tense moment, he reluctantly complied. "Leave," Maria added, her tone final. The agent nodded and left.
"I'm sorry about that, with Fury not around, things have been a bit chaotic," Maria Hill said, looking apologetically at Dave.
Dave raised an eyebrow. "where is he?"
"He is unconscious, Loki during his invasion attacked him," Maria sighed.
"You should have told me sooner," Dave replied shrugging, He handed her a vial. "Just run this on him, and he'll be good as new."
She took the vial hesitantly. "What is this?" she asked, eyeing it carefully.
"Think of it as a magical healing potion," Dave explained as he turned to leave.
Maria looked at the vial before nodding. "I'll go and see if it works," she said quietly, heading off to follow up on Dave's instructions.
