Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Accident

Fu Sheng took care of Fu Rong to the best. He cooked for her every day, and slowly she regained her physical strength. From a pale complexion, her face turned ruddy, and her cheeks were tainted pink. Though she was a powerful Celestial Master in her past life, she is now a 17-year-old girl who was bullied to hell by her classmates and family. She was starved in the past, and this body's condition is more or less weak.

Though she didn't lose her cultivation level and inner qi, that doesn't mean this body will hold the enormous power. And if she wanted to regain her lost luck and save her family, she needed to recover her physical strength. Only then could she use her cultivation power, or she wouldn't last.

But these peaceful days didn't last long. Fu Sheng got a call from his company regarding troubles in the company. He needed to conduct an emergency meeting with directors and shareholders to solve the issues.

Seeing him hurrying for the meeting, Fu Rong had a bad hunch. Before he stepped out of the house, Fu Rong called him in and gave him a load of yellow paper with red strings. If closely looked at, they were talismans. She tiptoed in front of him and hung a talisman around his neck. He never believed in superstition, but he couldn't deny that his daughter became alright because of a jade pendant. So he obediently wore it. It was his daughter's goodwill. Seeing her caring for him, his heart melted. But when she wanted to remove the jade pendant, Fu Sheng stopped her. Fu Rong knew that her father would never allow her to take off the pendant, so she relented.

"Dad, this talisman was given to me by a Daoist priest in a temple. He asked us to keep it safe." She didn't want her dad to think she had lost her mind, so she could only put an unknown Daoist priest under the train. Sure enough, after the mention of the Daoist priest, her father promised not to remove the talisman. Let others laugh. It's his little princess's gift. He would never take it off. With that, he left.

Sure enough, in half an hour, she got a call from her dad's number. The person who spoke asked her to come to the City First Hospital immediately. Though she had given talismans to her dad, she was still nervous after hearing that. She immediately ran towards the door, hailed a cab, and rushed to the hospital.

She inquired at the reception and got his ward number. She entered the room where her dad was admitted with a heavy heart. She stood near the door and looked at her dad, analyzing whether he was hurt anywhere. Only after confirming there were no visible injuries did she enter the room.

"Dad," Fu Rong called her dad while entering. Fu Sheng looked at his daughter and smiled sheepishly. He knew how much his kids had suffered without him. He was in a hurry and never noticed the signal, and a truck crashed into the car he was driving. Even though the car was crushed, luckily he survived. Otherwise, what would happen to his kids? Fu Sheng felt very guilty looking into Fu Rong's eyes.

Fu Rong noticed the once bright yellow talisman she gave her father had now turned partially black and gray and realized the impact of the accident. No wonder the accident in her past life took his life. She came to her dad and hugged him.

She was honestly afraid of losing him again. After all the things she faced and after 1,000 years as a lonely ghost, she was finally reborn when he was alive. She didn't want to lose him ever.

Looking at his daughter's shaking body, Fu Sheng couldn't help feeling heartache. He felt very guilty. "Rong'er, Daddy is fine. Look at me. I am healthy as hale. Don't cry, baby. Daddy is sorry." He tried to convince her, but it made her cry even more.

After so much time, she finally composed herself and looked into her dad's face. "Dad, why can't you take care of yourself properly? Don't you know my brother and I only have you in our family? Is your work more important than your life, your children, and our future?"

Hearing her question, Fu Sheng was stunned. Does he take everything lightly? He knows his kids are still young, and they need him. Why the hell did he never think about his life?

"Rong'er, Dad was wrong. Dad will never ever take my life lightly. Sorry for making you worry, dear." With that, he hugged her and patted her back.

The door opened, and Fu Yichen came in. "Dad, how are you?" He came in a jiffy and was out of breath and panting. Fu Rong gave him water to drink. Only then did he relax and ask, "What happened, Dad?" Fu Sheng recalled everything and told them in detail how he got into an accident.

Only after recalling everything did they notice that there was indeed something fishy in the whole accident. There were a lot of loopholes, and they couldn't pinpoint them accurately. In her past life, she never doubted anyone, but after going through a lot, Fu Rong naturally became suspicious of others. She always thought her dad's accident was natural, and it was a perfect opportunity for both the mother-daughter pair. She never connected the accident with them. Now, indeed, it was pre-planned. Anger started to seep out of Fu Rong. Her aura began to change with anger, but she masked it with her icy face."
