Chapter 27 - Familiar Face

Odelia's relationship with Sean is getting closer every day, they no longer have a wall of awkwardness between each other like when they first met. Especially when Sean touched her, Odelia felt comfortable with that touch.

Sean still knew the limits of what he could do. He would rub Odelia's pregnant belly, feeling the kicks of their baby who was starting to become active to signal to her parents that she was in there and okay.

"Ohhh... She's kicking again. Hey, watch it girl, you could give your mom a stomachache," Sean said with a chuckle as he felt their baby kick in his touch.

"It's okay, as long as it means she's okay, I'm very happy. Little one is so active, she wants us to notice her," Odelia said with a chuckle.

"Daddy always notices you, Little One." He kissed his wife's belly, feeling a soft kick on her face that pleased him.

She gently rubbed Sean's head on her stomach, making him very comfortable. He listened to their baby's voice with Odelia's gentle touch, a wonderful combination for him.

At the same time, Megan had just come out of her room and saw Sean who was alone with Odelia. She smiled at the sight of her brother being more alive than ever.

"Ekhem... I hate to interrupt your time. But Sean, it's seven o'clock. Didn't you say you had an important meeting?" Megan asked.

Sean checked his watch and gasped to see that he could be late for work. He quickly stood up and grabbed his suit.

"It's all Odelia's fault I'm late. Why did you have to rub my head? I didn't want to let it go," he replied trying to be funny.

"Right! It's all Odelia's fault, you should have hit his head, not rubbed it!"

The ginger-haired woman laughed when she heard that. "I'm sorry, I won't do it again next time," she replied.

"Hey, don't be like that. You should still do it, I'll ask you again when I get home from work." He kissed Odelia's forehead and then her belly.

"I have to go to work, this afternoon don't forget to come to lunch with one of my business partners. But if you feel dizzy or anything like that, don't force yourself, do you understand?"

"Yes, I understand."

He and Megan then left the house for work in their respective cars. Odelia watched her husband and sister-in-law go to work.

"Now it's just you and me, Little one," she said as she gently rubbed her belly.

When he arrived at the company, Sean got out of the car and parked the car.

He entered his company building and everyone greeted him. He just turned his head to them and then refocused on the road he was on and entered the elevator without smiling at them.

When the elevator doors opened, he was immediately greeted by Ronald who was ready for their meeting that morning.

"Mr. Sean, this morning's meeting will be presented by Tatiana Gomez," he said as he followed Sean into the meeting room.

"Tatiana? You mean the woman who came into my office a few days ago and talked about nothing important?" asked Sean glancing at his secretary with a cold stare.

"Yes, she's the one in charge of refining the design for the new device we're about to release," the man replied.

"Shouldn't that be held by Samuel Ramzez?" He stopped right in front of the meeting room door and turned to Ronald.

Ronald nodded, but he said that Samuel was on paternity leave, since his wife had just given birth two weeks ago. Sean couldn't help it, he understood how it felt to want to help a his wife.

'Maybe after Odelia gives birth, I'll take the same leave. Should I call it a leave of absence?' Sean thought.

"Mr. Sean?" called his secretary when he saw Sean who was just silent.

"Oh right, let's go in then."

Ronald nodded, then opened the door for the CEO, the brown-haired man walked into the meeting room with everyone immediately standing up from their seats and saluting him.

"Good morning, Mr. Osbert," they greeted him simultaneously.

He simply nodded his head and sat down in his chair, followed by the other employees.

"Good morning, I hope I'm not too late. Now we start today's meeting, I want this meeting to run well and correctly. If I find mistakes and anyone playing around during the meeting, I will kick you out of this room. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Mr. Osbert."

At noon, Odelia got out of the car that had picked her up to have lunch with Sean's business partner at an expensive restaurant. She wore a long dress with not too high heels and entered the restaurant.

Odelia took out her cell phone and called her husband.

"Hello Sean, I've arrived at the front of the restaurant. Which table are you at?" she asked.

"Are you here already? I'll pick you up. You just wait there," he replied and switched off the phone.

Odelia stood near the reception desk so as not to get in the way. Her round belly was very visible when she wore the dress. While waiting for Sean, she kept rubbing her stomach.

"Excuse me ma'am, are you waiting for someone? Please take a seat here, you must have a heavy belly and it would be tiring to stay standing," said a receptionist inviting Odelia to sit in the chair he had brought.

"Oh thank you, I'm waiting for my husband," she replied and sat in the chair.

Not long after, Sean finally arrived and smiled at how beautiful his wife looked.

"Did I keep you waiting too long?" he asked.

"Not really, this gentleman brought a chair for me to sit in," Odelia replied, pointing at the man nearby.

Knowing this, Sean pulled out a $50 bill for the man. At first he refused it because he only wanted to help, but Sean gave it to him secretly so that no one would know.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Osbert," he said.

Sean and Odelia entered the restaurant and went to their table, where the partner Sean said was waiting with his wife.

"Did I look good? I'm afraid I don't look pretty enough for you," Odelia asked worriedly.

"You're already perfect. Especially seeing as you're carrying my daughter, you're perfect," he replied.

As Odelia approached the table, she realized that Sean's work partner was a man she recognized, as well as the man recognizing Odelia's face. Not only him, his wife also remembered the woman's face.

"Meet my wife, Odelia Osbert. Odelia, this is George Sanco and his wife Mirai Sanco," Sean introduced them both.

However, there was silence between the four of them. Until Mirai finally opened her mouth while pointing at Odelia.

"Isn't she... Odelia Percy? Vincent Percy's wife?"
