The woman's blue eyes widened in shock as she saw her former mother-in-law and sister-in-law not far from her at the moment. They were both sitting in the waiting room to be called by the nurse.
"T-that's mother and Alice, if they see me here there's bound to be a scene..." Odelia stood up from her position and intended to leave the waiting room.
However, she was worried that her name would be called soon because it was soon her sequence number.
She hadn't expected to see the two women there, now she didn't know where to go.
"Sean, hurry back..." she muttered as she looked around.
She tried to cover herself so as not to be seen or recognized by Samantha and Alice while hoping Sean would return soon.
Alice who was annoyed waiting, looked around the waiting room in the same hallway as her. Then she seemed to notice someone near the obstetrician's room, she felt very familiar with a woman sitting there even though she was quite far away.
"Mom, mom isn't that the barren Odelia? Why is she there?" asked Alice as she tapped Samantha on the shoulder.
"Huh? There's no way she's here. Which woman are you talking about?" asked Samantha as she looked around them.
Her daughter then pointed at Odelia who had her back to them. Seeing that, she frowned. Feeling confused, was it really Odelia?
But what was she doing near the gynecologist's room?
"Right? That's her! I know that annoying woman very well, ma'am!"
"That seems to be the case, but what is she doing here? Is she trying to figure out how to get pregnant? Heh, is she trying to come back to the house and say that she'll get pregnant later?" the middle-aged woman said with a grunt of annoyance because she didn't want Odelia to be Vincent's wife again.
She wanted Monica because she felt she was beautiful, educated and in the same social class as her son, a wealthy woman.
"I'll try to approach her, just watch out if she dares to approach Vin again, I'll cut her hair bald!" said Alice in annoyance and then walked over to Odelia.
"Odelia!" she called with a slight shout, making Odelia gasp in surprise.
She gasped and made to leave the waiting room, the woman walked away but Alice and Samantha continued to chase her.
"Odelia stop! Don't you dare just run away!" snapped Samantha as she continued to chase after her.
As she was dodging, she saw Sean who had just come out of the elevator with food and a glass of hot tea in his hand.
"Sean," she called as she quickened her pace.
"Odelia? What are you doing? You're supposed to be..."
She suddenly embraced her contract husband's body and buried her face into his chest. Hugging him tightly, which made Sean gasp in surprise and his heart beat rapidly without him realizing it.
"Hey, what's up?" he asked in a serious tone of voice and then returned Odelia's hug.
This was the first hug Odelia had given him after they had been together for two weeks.
"My ex-mother-in-law and sister-in-law are here, they're after me. I have to hide my face," she whispered.
The man's rare gray eyes glanced at Samantha and Alice, he then rubbed the back of Odelia's head as if they were a loving couple. Covering her face from the two women who had hurt her feelings.
Seeing how Odelia and Sean embraced each other, Samantha and Alice were surprised and began to doubt if it was Odelia.
"Looks like we've got the wrong person, there's no way that barren is hugging like that with another man. Especially since he looks so rich," Samantha said to her daughter.
"But I'm sure it's her... Uhh... But it seems impossible that any other man would want her. This is an elite hospital after all, there's no way he'd be here," said Alice who was skeptical of what she was seeing.
Moreover, they didn't know who the man was, Sean had deliberately covered his face in Odelia's hair so that they wouldn't recognize him.
"Never mind, let's just go back!"
The two women then left the two of them and went back to the waiting room.
"They're gone, you're safe now," Sean whispered.
She let go of his embrace and looked back, breathing a sigh of relief, Odelia was glad that Sean had come to her rescue so swiftly. She then looked back at Sean.
The look on her face still portrayed the fear of meeting them. At that moment he immediately rubbed her head and then kissed her forehead.
"It's okay, they're gone. I'm here now, let's go back to waiting in front of the doctor's office. Don't worry, if they come back, I'll be with you," he said soothingly to Odelia and then pulled her hand back into the waiting room and sat down.
He handed Odelia some hot tea and the bread he had bought.
"You'll be hungry while you wait, so I brought you this," he said.
"Thank you." She drank the tea and then ate the bread while chatting with Sean.
"So I have to wait until you're 20 weeks pregnant for me to know the gender of our child?" he asked.
Odelia nodded. "Yes, that's when we'll see the gender."
Sean nodded in understanding then looked towards the doctor's office.
"What if it's a girl?" asked Odelia suddenly.
"Hmn?" He turned his head. "Whether it's a boy or a girl, it's all the same to me. He's my child, I'll accept it regardless of their gender."
"Are you sure? Usually someone who owns a big business prefers to have a boy so that their company can be passed down to their son. I-I don't know if you'll pass it down to this child or not... But I'm just curious," she said, becoming somewhat panicked, worried that Sean might think that Odelia wanted TechnOzone's company to be passed down to the child in her womb.
However, Sean's response was serious.
"Even if she were a woman, I would still give my company to her. Many women I know are CEOs and their companies are still doing well. It doesn't matter what gender this child is, if it's a boy or a girl... If she has the qualities and is able to hold my company after me, I will still give it to her," Sean explained and then touched Odelia's stomach.
"So there's no need to worry about that, as long as we educate her well and she becomes someone good, qualified and capable of holding great responsibility. She'll earn my trust," he continued.
Odelia's blue eyes lit up when she heard that, there are many CEOs who want a son as their successor.
To them, a man is someone who is far too strong and powerful to hold a big company.
But for Sean, women are the most powerful beings and he admires women more than their vices because everyone has them.
"Women are even more powerful, I see my employee working and she has a child. She comes home from work, picks up her child at daycare and then at home still has to do housework. You guys are amazing," he said with a smile and grasped Odelia's hand.
A smile appeared on Odelia's face when she heard that.
"Thank you."
