Chapter 25 - Epilogue

I wake up to the sound of giggles and hushed whispers coming from the living room. Stretching lazily, I glance over to see Inha's side of the bed already empty. A fond smile tugs at my lips as I realize what day it is – Inha's birthday.

Throwing on a robe, I pad out to the living room to find Yul and the kids gathered around, their faces alight with excitement. Seulgi spots me first and runs over, throwing her little arms around my legs.

"Mommy! Yul Appa got Inha Appa a puppy!" she exclaims, bouncing on her toes.

My gaze shifts to Yul, who's holding the most adorable Samoyed puppy I've ever seen. Its fluffy white fur and big, soulful eyes instantly melt my heart.

"Happy birthday to Husband Number One," Yul says, a hitn of irony in his voice, grinning at Inha, who's sitting on the couch with a look of pure surprise and delight on his face.

The kids are clustered around Yul, taking turns petting and cooing over the newest addition to our family. Even Yuji, has a soft smile on her face as she gently scratches the puppy's ears.

"You really didn't have to," Inha says, but the way his eyes are shining betrays his true feelings.

Yul shrugs, passing the wriggling bundle of fur over to Inha. "I know it was something you wanted when things settled down. Figured it was about time we got another."

Inha cradles the puppy against his chest, his expression one of pure wonder and joy. The sight fills my heart with warmth, and I make my way over to join them, settling beside Inha on the couch.

"What are you going to name him, Appa?" Seungho asks, his eyes wide with excitement.

Inha looks up at me, then at Yul, a silent conversation passing between us. Finally, a soft smile spreads across his face.

"How about Taeyang?" he suggests. "It means 'sun' – a symbol of warmth, light, and new beginnings."

The name feels perfect, and I can't help but lean in and press a kiss to Inha's cheek. "Happy birthday, my love," I murmur, resting my head on his shoulder as we watch the kids fawn over their new furry friend.

I glance around at my beautiful family, my heart overflowing with love and contentment. In this moment, everything feels perfect and complete. But there's one more surprise I've been holding onto, one that will make our little world even brighter.

Catching Yul's eye, I give him a meaningful look and a small nod. He seems to understand immediately, his expression shifting to one of stunned realization. I can practically see the wheels turning in his head as the pieces click into place.

"Actually," I begin, my voice carrying over the joyful chatter of the kids. "The puppy won't be the only new addition to the family."

The room falls silent, all eyes turning towards me with a mixture of curiosity and confusion. Even little Seulgi stops playing with Taeyang, her head tilting to the side inquisitively.

Inha looks at me, brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"

Taking a deep breath, I reach for his hand and place it on my still-flat stomach. "I'm pregnant," I reveal, unable to contain the radiant smile that spreads across my face. "And it's been a little while now."

For a heartbeat, the room is utterly still, the weight of my words sinking in. Then, like a dam bursting, the atmosphere explodes with excitement and joy.

The kids erupt into a chorus of delighted squeals and laughter, swarming around me to touch my belly and ask a million questions at once. Yuji and Seungho look utterly thrilled at the prospect of a new sibling, while little Yunho simply laughs and claps his hands, caught up in the infectious energy.

But it's the expressions on Inha and Yul's faces that truly fill my heart to bursting. Inha's eyes are shining with unshed tears of happiness, his lips curved into a trembling smile as he pulls me into a fierce embrace. Yul, on the other hand, looks utterly stunned – as if he can't quite believe this is real.

"How..." he begins, his voice thick with emotion. "How long have you known?"

I reach out and take his hand, guiding it to join Inha's on my stomach. "A few weeks now. But I wanted to wait for the perfect moment to share the news with you both."

Yul's eyes meet mine, and in that instant, I see a kaleidoscope of emotions swirling within their depths – joy, disbelief, love, and a hint of lingering sorrow from the past. But above it all shines a newfound sense of hope, of healing, of new beginnings.

As our little family converges around me, surrounding me with their warmth and unconditional love, I know in my heart that this child will be born into a world of light – a world where the shadows of the past have been banished by the radiant promise of our future together.

I gaze around at my beautiful family, my heart overflowing with love and joy. Inha is still cradling the fluffy puppy, Taeyang, in his arms, his eyes shining with pure happiness. Yul has moved closer, his hand resting on my stomach in a protective, reverent gesture. The kids are clustered around us, their faces alight with excitement at the prospect of a new sibling.

In this moment, all the pain and heartache of the past seem to melt away, replaced by a sense of peace and contentment that I never thought possible. We've come so far, weathered so many storms, but our love for each other has only grown stronger with each challenge we've faced.

As I look into Yul and Inha's eyes, I see a future filled with promise and hope. A future where our children grow up surrounded by love and laughter, where the bonds between us only deepen with each passing year. A future where the shadows of the past are banished by the radiant light of our love.

Seulgi tugs at my sleeve, her big eyes shining with curiosity. "Mommy, when will the baby come?"

I smile down at her, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face. "In a few months, sweetheart. But we'll have to be patient and let the baby grow big and strong first."

"I can't wait to be a big sister!" Yuji chimes in, her face beaming with pride. Seungho nods eagerly, already looking like the protective older brother.

Inha leans in and presses a tender kiss to my forehead. "I love you," he murmurs, his voice thick with emotion. "Both of you."

Yul's hand tightens ever so slightly on my stomach, and when I meet his gaze, I see a depth of love and longing that takes my breath away. In that moment, I know that he's already fallen hopelessly in love with this new life growing within me – a love that transcends the pain of the past and reaches towards a brighter future.

As our family gathers close, I can almost feel the bonds between us strengthening, weaving us together in an unbreakable tapestry of love and commitment. We've weathered the storms and emerged stronger, more resilient, and more devoted to each other than ever before.

And as we look towards the future, I know that no matter what challenges may come our way, we'll face them together – a united front, bound by the love and trust we've forged through fire and pain. This child will be born into a world of light, a world where the past has been laid to rest, and the promise of tomorrow shines brighter than ever before.
