I always thought that in the universe, there are many things humans are unable to understand.
After my death, this theory has been proven correct.
Why do you ask?
The fact is, I myself am still in disbelief at what I see before me. I am standing in pitchblack darkness and in front of me is a floating screen that says:
[Karma]
[Positive Karma - SSS]
[Negative Karma - D]
[UAI IS UNABLE TO DECIDE NEXT COURSE OF ACTION]
[INITIATING TRANSFER TO COUNCIL OF UNIVERSE ADMINISTRATION]
I see a blinding flash, and the next thing I know, I find myself in a room filled with unprecedented luxury and majesty.
Surrounding me are some humanoid figures. I am unable to see them clearly, as if they are something I cannot comprehend, but the feeling of power emanating from them is unmistakable. From the very depths of my soul, I sense that these beings in front me are holders of unimaginable power.
One of them spoke:
"To think a mortal would be able to change the fate of a world and steer it away from destruction is truly impressive."
Others also began speaking:
"Mortal, by creating a sustainable source of energy, you have saved your world from a great crisis. By starting a new era you have steered your world away from its destruction..."
"Though it was only a Tier-0 world, you have accumulated a generous amount of positive karma. Now, you are permitted to speak."
At first I was too stunned to speak. After few seconds I was able to calm my self down and spoke to them with some respect as I still didn't Fully understand what was happening and they seem kind of big shots..
"If I may, what is happening to me? Could you please explain?"
"Well, you see, in this universe, there is positive and negative karma gained from the way you live. By the rules set at the birth of a universe, those with high positive karma are given a good start in their next life. If they have enough karma, they may even be sent to a higher-tier world... And before you ask, world tiers are divisions based on the overall power of a world. A more powerful world offers higher opportunities. For example, your world is a newborn world—it doesn't yet have access to void energy or mana, as you might call it, and its will is still not fully developed. After a few million eras, your world's will shall become fully conscious, granting its inhabitants access to mana and connecting them to the UAI (Universal Artificial Intelligence). At that point, it will become a Tier-1 world and be connected to the Universal Battlefield."
Though it was kinda rude I interrupted him.
"What is this Universal Battlefield?"
Now that I noticed I was unusually calm as if something was forcing me to stay calm this also happened with me a few more times when I was alive. Then he spoke again...
"I'll explain that later. For now, listen and don't interrupt me. People will then gain access to the status and skill function. This progression continues until the world reaches Tier-9 or is destroyed. For most people, the UAI handles reincarnation and erases their memories for a smooth transition to the next life. However, in your case, your karma is too overwhelming an once a epoch phenomenon that is too important for it to handle, so you've been sent to us—the Council of Level 10 Existences and the Universal Will."
"Now, we will give you a chance to be reborn in a Tier-1 world with your memory of this knowledge intact, and we will offer you some perks for a head start in your new life. However, your memory of your previous life will be erased.
As for your earlier question, the Universal Battlefield is a place where the Abyss Realm connects to a universe. The Abyss is a place where souls are corrupted and turned into Abyss demons. This realm constantly seeks to devour universes to grow stronger. Our universe exists within one such realm where there are multiple universes co-exists and because of attacks by the Abyss, our communication with the rest of the realm has been disrupted. The battle is usually fought by Level 1 to Level 9 existences. We, Level 10 existences, maintain the balance of the universe and act as its administrators. There are very few Level 9 beings in the universe—only seven, each residing in one Tier-9 world. Each world is connected to a battlefield of the same tier. If our universe wins, the Abyssal universe that is fighting with us will be devoured by us, making us much stronger, and its inhabitants will benefit. But the opposite is also true. If we lose, our universe will be devoured, and our will shall be corrupted by Abyssal darkness."
It was overwhelming to learn such things. For a being like me, who is insignificant in the grand scheme of things, I stood there, rooted for a few minutes, processing all the information given to me by the beings in front of me.
"Now, We will give you some perks that will give you advantage at your next life so choose carefully as it will most important decision you have ever taken in your life."
After taking some time to thinking I asked if I don't want to go to abyssal battlefield and live a normal life will that be possible?
" No as because of your high karma you will be sent to a Tire-1 world by default and if you refuse perks then you might die in abyssal attack before you have chance to mature so make your choice carefully."
The female shadow in the centre replied in a heart beat.
As expected there is nothing I can do to avoid this. It will be better if I just accept the perks and hope what ever it is it will help me to safe in my next life. So I said with conviction...
"Please show me the choices....."
